Ariana Grande baffles fans as her voice changes dramatically halfway through interview: ‘Mad scary’

Ariana Grande has left fans stunned after a clip of her voice dramatically changing went viral.

The 30-year-old singer and actress recently appeared on Podcrushed with Penn Badgley, opening up about her childhood and her experiences on Nickelodeon.

In a clip from the June 15 episode, which has since taken the internet by storm, listeners were stunned to hear her voice an octave higher during her chat.

The Wicked star was discussing her growth as a singer and her songwriting journey while talking about her album, Eternal Sunshine, when it happened.

“I went to the studio the day after the Met and stayed there for about ten days and I literally lived there and I felt like I woke up today and it felt like Austin Powers was unleashed,” laughed Ariana, along with Penn and his colleagues. hosts, Nava Kavelin and Sophie Ansari, chuckle along.

The Wicked star was discussing her growth as a singer and her songwriting journey while talking about her album, Eternal Sunshine, when she shifted gears.

“That’s how I felt,” she continued. “I thought, what happened?”

“But yes, me,” she says, her voice rising dramatically and breathily as she composes herself and continues.

‘I would like to do a luxury [album] at some point,” she says.

And fans couldn’t believe the change, taking to social media to express their concern and disbelief.

“As a singer, maybe she’s trying to talk with a less harmful part of her voice,” one user speculated.

“Speaking higher like that without the vocal friction she had in the beginning is better for your voice, especially if your voice is tired.”

Another wondered, “Ariana Grande is crazy and scary because (because) why did she do a voice change during that interview like it was nothing?”

“People must be delusional because it’s obvious to her [Glinda] voice keeps her on the high note,” someone else commented.

Ariana responded to the comments, saying that she has “always” changed her voice depending on how much she is singing at the time.

Ariana responded to the comments about her voice change, saying that she always changes her tone

‘Habit (spoken like that for two years) and also voice health. I intentionally change my voice placement (high/low) often depending on how much I am singing,” she commented on a TikTok clip of the voice change.

‘I’ve always done this BYE.’

It is not the first time that Ariana has been criticized for her voice.

In March, the singer raised eyebrows when she presented two categories at the 96th Annual Academy Awards with her Wicked co-star, Cynthia Erivo.

When the blonde beauty spoke, she did so in a very soft rhythm, as she could barely be heard.

“She doesn’t normally sound like that!” said one fan on Instagram, while another added: ‘Is that Ariana? What happened to her voice?’

Some thought she was using her Glinda the Good Witch voice from her movie Wicked, thinking she wasn’t out of character yet.

One wrote: ‘Someone needs to make Ariana Grande stop speaking in her Glinda voice. It’s too early for another Austin Butler situation.”
