Ariana Grande and Nicole Kidman share sweet red carpet moment before they both accept Palm Springs awards
Ariana Grande and Nicole Kidman shared a sweet red carpet moment at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards on Saturday.
Stars galore were presented at the event, including Angelina Jolie, Adrien Brody, Timothee Chalamet, Ralph Fiennes and Kieran Culkin.
After the resounding success of her new film Wicked: Part One in theaters, Ariana was honored with the Rising Star Award that evening.
Meanwhile, Nicole was honored that evening with the festival’s International Star Award for her performance in the new erotic thriller Babygirl, about a married CEO who embarks on an affair in which she acts as the submissive partner of a dominant lover.
During the red carpet portion, Ariana, 31, paid her respects to Nicole, 57, by bowing and kissing the older actress’ hand.
They also posed side by side that night, exuding their megawatt showbiz glamor as the shutterbugs snapped at them.

Ariana wore her hair in a tight updo and modeled a poofy white dress that wouldn’t have looked out of place on her Wicked character Galinda.
She was seen on the red carpet with the film’s director Jon M. Chu, who opted for a black suit and shirt with wine-colored shoes.
Nicole, meanwhile, brought a touch of oceanic flair to the proceedings by modeling a structured top with a shimmery blue and silver fish scale motif.
Keeping with the theme of the outfit, she donned a deep blue dress that shimmered under the lights and featured a flowing train.
Ariana received her award from Jennifer Coolidge, who she eerily impersonated while hosting Saturday Night Live in October.
On stage, Ariana praised Jennifer as a “comedic genius whose brilliance has inspired my entire life” and then demonstrated her own sense of humor.
‘You don’t know how much it means to me. I’ve been performing since I was a kid, so I never thought I’d hear the words “rising star” again at the age of 31, so I wanted to start by thanking my two friends: Botox and Juvederm” , she vaped.
“I thought I was going to hear ‘a slightly withering star’ or ‘hanging star’ now, so thanks,” she added with a laugh, according to People.

While accepting her trophy this Friday in Palm Springs, Nicole thanked Halina and noted that she was “still grieving” the loss of her mother.
“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to say, ‘This is for my mother,’” she said, prompting applause People.
“My whole career has been for my mother and my father, who are not here now. I still continue to work and give to the world because I love what I do and I love all of you, and I am so grateful for the privilege of being part of the film community.”
