Amy Shark reveals the heartbreaking reason she won’t be attending this year’s ARIA Awards
Australian singer-songwriter Amy Shark has revealed that she will not be attending the 2022 ARIA Awards because she has to take care of her grandmother.
The Adore hitmaker, 36, told Fitzy & Wippa on Monday she will not attend this year’s ceremony, despite being nominated for Best Australian Live Act.
Radio hosts Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald and Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli congratulated her on the nomination and asked if she would perform this year.

“No, I’m not going to the ARIAs this year,” Amy replied.
‘You’re not?’ asked a shocked Wippa.
“No, I’m actually going to spend some time with my grandmother because her caregiver has to go abroad. So I’m going to take care of her for about a month,” she said.
“So we’re going to watch it from my grandmother’s living room.”
