BREAKING: Argentina makes a late change to its starting XI as left-back Marcos Acuna, who missed their semi-final win over Croatia, is replaced by Nicolás Tagliafico for the World Cup final against France.

Argentina has been forced into a late replacement as Marcos Acuña is replaced by Nicolás Tagliafico for the World Cup final against France.

Acuna, who missed the semifinal win over Croatia through suspension, was initially slated to be part of Lionel Scaloni’s squad for the all-important clash.

However, the 44-year-old had to make a late substitution, with Tagliafico coming into the flank.

The late change was not tactical but forced, with Acuña injured and therefore unable to play.

Tagliafico has started only one of Argentina’s World Cup matches en route to the final, that being the semi-final, where he helped his team keep a clean sheet in a 3–0 win.
