Area 51 has ultra-secure ‘base within a base’ where dazzling secret aircraft are tested, says expert whose home was raided over website revealing ‘truth’ of Nevada UFO base

The owner of a website that collects information about Area 51 believes the military is testing new technology at a secret “base within a base” in the Nevada desert.

Joerg Arnu has been running dreamlandresort.com since the early days of the internet. The site launched in 1999, complete with a forum for equally enthusiastic fans to exchange theories about events at the Air Force facility.

Some of those posting on the site are former Area 51 employees – and Arnu’s home was recently raided by the FBI, convincing him that at least one user had shared the truth about what’s happening there.

Area 51 has long been seen as a place where recovered alien technology is tested. At least one former employee, Bob Lazar, says they saw alien aircraft.

Skeptics say these incredible claims provide a useful distraction from the very real but highly secretive military aircraft that are definitely being developed and tested there.

Arnu, a self-described “Area 51 research veteran,” is one of about fifty people who live in Rachel, Nevada, right on the edge of the military base.

And with 25 years of research under his belt, Arnu believes the real secrets are now being hidden in a new part of Area 51, north of the existing runways and base buildings.

“They have years and years and decades of experience hiding things,” Arnu said 8 News Now.

‘Look at some of the exotic aircraft, like the Tacit Blue that was developed in total secrecy and flown in secret, and then suddenly they put it in a museum and said, ‘Yes, we had this for a while’. ‘

Arnu was referring to a bizarre Northrup jet in the shape of a duckbill, an early stealth prototype, first tested at Area 51 in 1982, decommissioned in 1985 and finally unveiled eleven years later in 1996.

He said the fact that such a bizarre-looking aircraft could remain secret for so long is an indication of what else is being kept far from the public’s eyes in the ultra-secret enclave of Area 51.

Area 51, located 125 miles outside Las Vegas, has been shrouded in secrecy since its inception in 1955, when it was established as part of the Nevada Test and Training Range complex.

Soon reports of ‘unidentified flying objects’ began to surface. These seemed to arise from testing of the U-2 aircraft, which at the time could fly up to 15,000 feet higher than normal aircraft.

Since then, Area 51 has continued to serve as a testing ground for other stealth aircraft such as the F-117A, A-12 and Tacit Blue. The Army’s stunning new B-21 Stealth Raider was also likely developed and tested at Area 51.

The military did not acknowledge the base’s existence until 2013, when a previously classified document on the U-2 was obtained by the National Security Archive at George Washington University.

There were efforts to share more information about the facility before then. In the early 2000s, an Area 51 watchdog named Chuck Clark revealed that the military had placed sensors miles outside the base’s boundaries, leading to a raid on his home.

And he wasn’t alone, as in November 2022, Arnu’s properties were overrun by armed counter-terrorism agents.

He was lying in bed at his home in Rachel when about two dozen officers burst through the door, handcuffed him and took him outside for questioning.

But all that nosy behavior came at a price: Arnu and his girlfriend, Linda Hellow, were the targets of an FBI raid in November 2022.

More than 100 miles away in Las Vegas, friend Linda Hellow was similarly woken up by FBI agents ordering her down at gunpoint.

The officers confiscated four of Arnu’s computers, several hard drives, telephones, cameras and a drone. They also stole photos of his deceased parents and documents containing personal information.

Arnu obtained a search warrant, reviewed by DailyMail.com, which begins on page 40. The document indicates that Arnu violated Title 18 of the United States Code by accusing him of “conspiracy” and “photographing defense installations.”

He later learned that the raid was conducted by a joint team of the FBI and the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, a counterintelligence division that investigates terrorist groups that target the Air Force.

Nearly two years later, Arnu is unsure whether he will receive a prison sentence. However, the government’s case against him – whatever it may be – has not deterred him from continuing his mission.

The webmaster said he suspects military technology such as drones and unmanned combat aircraft are being tested at Area 51.

“They’re clearly drones,” Arnu said. “The Russians and Chinese are working on things to block our drones, we’re working on things to block theirs. The next step is how we can make drone communications safer.”

However, the tests are conducted under even greater secrecy, at a ‘base within a base’ visible only to those with their own satellite.

Arnu isn't sure if he will face jail time, but the raid hasn't stopped him from digging further into the mystery surrounding Area 51.

He says the experiments are being conducted at a very secure “base within a base” north of Groom Lake, visible only to those with their own satellite.

“They have a whole empty valley just north of Groom Lake, and they have a mountain range where they can play with pretty much anything they want,” Arnu explained.

All this information and more can be found at dreamlandresort.com, which has been ad-free since March 2019.

A prominent banner on the site encourages people to donate to a GoFundMe, which reads “Freedom of Speech Under Attack: The FBI Wants to Silence Us with Unwarranted Raids and False Accusations.” Help us fight for our First Amendment rights!”

Arnu has no plans to give up his mission anytime soon, nor does he believe that the shadowy agents testing military technology in the desert plan to stop.

“It’s blooming out there,” Arnu said. “Area 51 isn’t going anywhere.”

Area 51 is located in a huge exclusion zone near Rachel. Sensors have been placed in the ground to alert security to unauthorized visitors. Anyone who crosses the perimeter – which is many miles from the base itself – is charged with misdemeanor assault.
