To make the most of these travel deals, Hopper consumer travel expert Lindsay Schwimer offered DailyMail.com some of her best tips for hunting for bargains.

Follow the deal, NOT the destination

Would you like to book a trip for 2024?

Follow the deal, not the destination, says Lindsay, on what Hopper.com has dubbed “Travel Deal Tuesday.”

She advises: ‘Being flexible in the destination is the best way to save on future travel.

‘Also consider nearby airports when searching for flights to score the best deals.’

Be flexible when you travel

“If you can be flexible on travel dates, you’ll get the best bang for your buck,” says Lindsay.

When it comes to flights, she recommends flying mid-week so you can get an extra $100 off flights compared to traveling on the weekend.

As for the hotel, she recommends checking in Sunday through Tuesday to save up to 25 percent or more per night.

For those who don’t have the flexibility to travel during the week, Lindsay recommends shifting weekend stays from Saturday to Monday as this can save up to 10 percent.

For certain destinations, Lyndsay says travelers can pay a hefty premium to check in on weekends, rising to 120 percent in Las Vegas and 80 percent for Miami.

Select the first flight of the day

When it comes to booking flights, Lyndsay recommends opting for flights early in the day as they are less likely to be delayed or canceled, which can lead to unforeseen costs.

She added: ‘In fact, flights departing after 9am were on average up to twice as likely to be delayed than flights departing between 5am and 8am.

‘Cancellations are also usually highest at the end of the day: last year on average more than 3 percent of flights were canceled between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m.

‘Flying early can help you save costs, as delays or cancellations often mean you have to look for airport food, hotels or even new flights.’

Reserve rental cars on this day

Lyndsay emphasizes that car rental companies will also reduce prices on Travel Deal Tuesday.

She notes that a range of providers, including ‘NOW, Economy, Fox, Easirent, are all offering special rates if you book rental cars on November 28.’

Download the Hopper app

Look out for participating airlines, hotels and tourism agencies

Lydsay says more than 500 travel providers will be participating in the sale and it’s worth investigating which ones are on board.

When it comes to airlines, Lyndsay reveals that some of the participating airlines on Hopper will be Aer Lingus, Air New Zealand, American Airlines, China Airlines, Fiji Airways, French Bee, Icelandair, ITA Airways, PLAY Airlines, Porter Airlines, SATA Azores . Airlines and Singapore Airlines.

On the hotel front, some of the participating partners include Caesars Entertainment, Encore Boston Harbor Resort & Casino, Fontainebleau Hotel Vegas, MGM Resorts, Nemacolin Woodland Resort, The Equinox Golf Resort & Spa, Vermont and Wyndham Destinations.
