A father of two who let his daughters play on a level crossing is shamed by railway bosses who point out the dangers of the railway.
Disturbing video included in a CCTV compilation shows how on April 3 this year, the father allowed his two young girls to play on a leash while pointing them to the “beautiful hills” in the distance.
The family stood on the tracks for more than a minute and a half, with the father looking at his phone even after his daughter said ‘there’s a train coming’.
Network Rail has released footage of six incidents where people risked their lives at footpath crossings in Worcestershire and the West Midlands this year.

Nearly 50 cases of abuse have been reported by train drivers or captured on hidden cameras in Worcestershire and the West Midlands by 2023, Network Rail has revealed.
In one case — featured in the compilation video — on April 4, a teen was caught on CCTV doing one-armed push-ups in the middle of a crosswalk while loud music played in the background.
Three days earlier, a dog walker was recorded encouraging their two dogs to sit on the tracks while an onlooker snapped a photo of them.
Another example shows how an elementary school boy on a scooter hurtles in front of an oncoming train on May 18, which thunders seven seconds later.
Other children were captured placing ballast stones on the tracks so that they were run over by trains.

Alexandra France, safety manager at the network’s level crossings, said: ‘In so many of the incidents filmed, the difference of just a few seconds could have led to tragedy for those involved.
“I can’t downplay the danger they were in – serious injury or worse, huge opportunity.
‘No matter how well you think you know a level crossing, all users must adhere to the rules at every level crossing. It’s just not worth the risk.”
