The bleached brow trend shows no signs of going anywhere, with A-listers like Kylie Jenner, Nicola Peltz Beckham and Madonna debuting the look in recent weeks.
However, the ‘vanishing eyebrows’ effect isn’t just a high-fashion statement. Now TikTok users are flocking to the platform to learn how to use their eyebrows At home. The hashtag #bleachedbrows currently has over 143 million views.
This marks a big change from the elaborate eyebrow routines that grew in popularity in the 2000s. Eliza’s beauty contributor Madeleine Spencer was a devotee; her method included growth serumscissors to shape, pencil and powder to fill in the gaps, and gel to hold them in place.
“I was getting tired of brow perfection,” says Madeleine, who was looking for a less polished look. “Then I saw bleached eyebrows all over and they looked so refreshing.”
As a beauty expert switched up her look, she felt confident enough to try the process herself at home.

Using bleach around your eyes can be a little risky, but as long as you follow the instructions on your chosen eyebrow dye bleach and protective products very carefully, you should be safe.
However, if you’re feeling put off by a DIY approach, go to an eyebrow bar or ask your hairdresser if they can professionally dye them for you instead.
