Arcane co-creator reveals the three ‘amazing’ League of Legends regions that will be explored next, but there are two things he ‘can’t say about them yet’

  • Arcaan’The co-creator of Runeterra has revealed which regions of Runeterra will be explored in the near future League of Legends (Lol) amendment
  • Noxus, Ionia and Demacia will take center stage
  • It’s unclear if they will be part of the same project or individual films and TV shows

One of Arcane‘s co-creators have finally revealed what’s next League of Legends (Lol) adjustments on Netflix – but isn’t ready to confirm two big details yet.

In an exclusive chat with Ny Breaking to discuss everything Arcane season 2 and future project plans, Christian Linke reaffirmed that Netflix, Lol creator Riot Games and animation studio Fortiche are said to explore Noxus, Ionia and Demacia in upcoming films and TV shows. These fan-favorite regions of Runeterra – the world that Lol And Arcane are located – were first revealed by Linke in an extensive chat of Competition superfan Necrit on Twitch last Saturday (November 23).

While those revelations set tongues wagging among the diehards Lol fans and Arcane However, Linke was keen to emphasize to devotees that all projects focusing on Noxus, Ionia and Demacia were still in the very early stages of development. That was to be expected, especially in light of the fact that Linke and fellow creator Alex Yee told me it will be a long time before the next Competition adaptation makes its Netflix debut. However, this revelation raises more questions than answers, including which ones are iconic Lol champions will be part of the proceedings and whether these regions will be highlighted in individual films and TV shows.

The final three episodes of season 2 tease the arrival of a Major Competition champion (Grand General Jericho Swain) who has ties to Noxus, Ionia and Demacia – read more about this in my Arcane season 2 act 3 ending explanation – I couldn’t resist asking Linke for more details about the above. Perhaps unsurprisingly, though Linke wasn’t in the mood to confirm too much about the sequel (or possible sequel) to one of Netflix’s best shows.

“That’s hard for me to say,” Linke responded when I asked if Swain would be a lead or major supporting character in Arcane‘s sequel. “Look, there’s a presence everywhere Arcaneand also at the end… I mean, we’re drawn to the stories that our audience wants, and we’d be foolish geese if we didn’t look at these really interesting and amazing areas of our intellectual property. I don’t think I can really talk about specific characters yet. But as I said to Necrit, we’re really exploring these regions and there are essential characters tied to those regions.”

As for whether or not Noxus, Ionia and Demacia would feature in the same project, Linke added: “At this point it really comes down to finding the right visionaries, storytellers and people to guide and make it happen . I can’t say anything specific, but know we are working hard on it.”

I guess we’ll just have to wait for more news from Linke and company when they have something official to share! Hopefully the wait won’t be too long – indeed, when Linke confirmed that (in June). Arcane‘s second season would also be its last. He suggested that more information would be shared about the sequels to the award-winning animated series before 2024 ends. Unless he’s already revealed this information by confirming the inclusion of Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia in the next project, I expect some more details in the coming weeks. Wouldn’t it be a nice festive gift if more were revealed?
