For decades, Arby’s has built its brand on roast beef sandwiches, setting it apart in a crowded fast-food landscape dominated by burgers.
The chain, founded in 1964, didn’t introduce its first burger until 2022 — and even then, the offering was limited.
The burger was a hit, selling out in two weeks and returning for limited runs in November 2022, May and then November 2023, and May this year.
But now Arby’s is making burgers a permanent item on the menu.
Reports from fast food site Brand food suggest the burgers are here to stay, with Arby’s insiders confirming the chain is ditching the limited-time format.
Arby’s deluxe burger is one of many now permanently on the menu. It is the first time in 60 years that hamburgers have been on the menu full-time
A Reddit insider even hinted earlier this year that the new burger will differ from the original Wagyu version.
Although Arby’s did not respond to requests for comment, the company’s website now promotes burgers as a permanent offering of burgers “are here to stay.”
Fans can choose between the Deluxe Burger, Big Cheesy Bacon Burger or the new BBQ Bacon Burger, featuring crispy onions, bacon, pickles, American cheese and smoky barbecue sauce on a brioche bun.
Arby’s burgers cost between $6.49 and $8.49, although prices may vary.
Customers can also choose the Deluxe Burger as part of the Tailgate Meal, which includes fries, drink and turnover for $13.98.
The burger rollout isn’t the only exciting development from Arby’s.
Earlier this month, the chain launched a Double the Meats Meal. It costs $7 and offers a medium drink, fries and a choice of twice the amount of beef.
Arby’s Wagyu burger was the first burger it sold and was first introduced in 2022 as a limited edition menu item and then twice the following year and again in May of this year
Arby’s main item was the roast beef sandwich
The Bourbon BBQ Brisket Sandwich comes with melted cheddar cheese, brown sugar bacon, onions and a special bourbon BBQ sauce on a toasted brioche bun
Meanwhile in August two fan favorite sandwiches returned after six years – Bourbon BBQ Brisket and Bourbon BBQ Chicken Sandwiches, but quickly disappeared again.
Chains are reeling from declining customer numbers as Americans fed up with two years of price increases stay away — and that includes introducing new products and offers.
For example, McDonald’s has a $5 meal deal for four items that runs through December. It’s similar to Burger King’s $5 Your Way Meal.
