It is predicted that Apple’s iPhone 15 Max Pro will be the first to offer 2TB of storage, making the price up to 60 percent higher than a MacBook, according to tech experts.
In addition to doubling storage, the price increase is said to be due to the move from stainless steel to titanium, new LiDAR sensors, camera improvements, and a more powerful chip.
The iPhone 14 Pro Max 1TB starts at $1,599, but the upgraded features can push the $2,099 mark – a MacBook starts at $1,299.
Apple will unveil the iPhone 15 on September 12, but the Pro Max probably won’t ship until October due to supply chain issues.

BGR shared a report detailing the higher price tag as Apple increased the maximum storage space to 2TB.
One terabyte is equal to 1,024 gigabytes (GB), which can hold 555,555 JPEG images.
This month, the storage capacity claim was also seen in a Weibo post, lending further weight to the rumor.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max will likely be available in standard 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB versions.
However, it was also rumored that last year’s iPhone 14 Pro models would also come with the 2TB option, but that didn’t happen.
The iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max were the first Apple smartphones with 1 TB due to improved camera features that take up storage space.

Apple released the first Pro Max alongside the iPhone 11 in 2019 with a starting price of $1,099 – and that was the same for the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
When Apple launched the high-end smartphone in 2021, the price for the 1TB shot up to $1,599 and remained the same for the iPhone 14 Pro Max at 1TB.
Rumors of the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro Max have been circulating the internet for a long time, as Forbes reported that the smartphone will have a 10x optical zoom camera – current models have 3x optical zoom.
The increased camera capabilities are said to be due to the adoption of periscope lenses.
This periscope camera made progress in 2020 after MacRumors saw another research note from renowned Apple product forecaster and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Periscope lenses use mirrors to provide a much greater optical zoom.
With the added technology, moving to titanium would be ideal.
While titanium rivals steel in terms of strength, it can be up to 45 percent lighter, making these models much easier to wear.
Titanium can withstand higher temperatures better than steel and offers comparable protection against water damage.
An Apple expert told 9 to 5 Monc that the iPhone 15 Pro Max could be delayed by two months after its launch in September due to a lack of sensors
Sony is the sensor supplier for Apple, but reports indicate that the image sensor component is not yet finished.
