Apple TV shocks fans when a popular series about a tragic event survivor is canceled after just one season

Apple TV executives have shocked fans after canceling a series about a tragic event survivor after just one season.

A viewer favorite and an adaptation of the novel released in 2020, Dear Edward, told the story of Edward Adler, played by Colin O’Brien.

The character was orphaned after a traumatic plane crash that killed his entire family and he had to find a way to rebuild his life and make new friends.

Edward was based in part on a real-life crash survivor named Ruben, who was also the sole survivor of a plane crash and lost his family.

The sad event happened when he was on his way back from a safari in South Africa with them and ended up living with his aunt and uncle.

One wrote, “Too bad it was a good show,” while a second wrote, “No.”

A third said, “No, I loved this show,” while another added, “I’m heartbroken… damn.”

Someone else said, “That’s disappointing too,” and another wrote, “After falling in love with the show.”

A Twitter poster said, “I gave it a big shot giving it 6 episodes and loving Jason Katims’ work, but I couldn’t get into the storylines of so many characters.

“Connie Britton can’t do a whole show on her own.”

And someone else said, “I thought it started strong and went off the rails.”

In the series, Connie Britton plays Dee Dee, a woman who lost her husband on the same flight that Edward survives.

She recently shared how the show, which revolves around grief and mourning, served as a conduit for her own experiences with grief.

Britton said in an interview with Procession: β€œI find that I have experienced grief in my own life that we often don’t have ways to work through and cope.

‘We don’t get the tools and the language for it. This was a really great opportunity to try and explore that.

And one of the things I really learned playing Dee Dee was that grief comes in many forms. Because grief can certainly come from the loss of a loved one, but it can also stem from the loss of your own sense of self or your own sense of what you know or how you view your life.”

In an interview with the Associated PressBritton revealed that she studied playing a wealthy socialite by watching some popular reality television show, including The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

In the crash of Afriqiyah Airways Flight 771, Ruben suffered fractures to his legs after being the only person to survive.

After surgery on them. his aunt and uncle picked him up and raised him further and got custody of him.

Ann Napolitano, author of Dear Edward, previously said that Ruben’s story inspired the book, but that it was fiction because much of his post-crash life was unknown.

She said Library magazine“I guess I couldn’t let it go [of Ruben’s story] because I was both deeply concerned for Ruben and deeply curious how he could move forward after such a terrible tragedy.

β€œHis aunt and uncle did a fantastic job protecting Ruben’s privacy once he was released from the hospital, but that meant I had no way of knowing he was okay.

β€œI had to create conditions under which a little boy in that situation could credibly become a whole person, despite – or even because of – what he had lost. I wanted him to be okay, so I had to sign up to believe that was possible.”
