Apple TV customers are threatening to CANCEL their subscriptions as prices increase – as angry customers say it ‘doesn’t have enough content’ to justify the increase
Furious Apple TV customers have threatened to cancel their subscriptions following news that Apple is raising prices by as much as 40 percent.
The change will bring the monthly cost from £6.99 to £8.99 in the UK and from $6.99 to $9.99 in the US.
Some customers say they are willing to pay for Apple TV+’s new higher price to continue watching popular shows like Ted Lasso and The Morning Show.
However, many have criticized the changes, with some claiming that Apple doesn’t have enough high-quality content to justify paying more.

Apple has announced a price increase for its Apple TV+ streaming service, but many customers say the price is no longer worth it
Many Apple TV customers say the platform doesn’t have a large enough library of content to justify paying the new higher prices
Launched in 2019, Apple TV+ has produced some original shows but hasn’t had decades to build a catalog like Netflix or access historic libraries like Disney+.
“I like a few Apple TV shows, but they don’t have the content to warrant it,” said one user.
Another added: ‘I used two free three-month Apple TV promotions this year. I’ve rarely found anything worth watching.’
And one commenter said: ‘Will cancel.
“The few shows that are worth watching are fantastic, but once you’re done, why stick around?”
Frustration over the service’s price increases has led many commentators to threaten to cancel their subscriptions.
Some commenters on X (formerly Twitter) say they will cancel now because there aren’t enough shows to make them pay for the service
“Time to cancel,” one user tweeted, while another added that Apple TV was: “Heading in the right direction for a cancellation.”
Another simply wrote: ‘Hello @Apple’.
However, some commentators argue that $9.99 (£8.99 in the UK) is an acceptable price for Apple TV+, especially when compared to the prices of competing services.
“That’s honestly a fair price,” one person tweeted.
Another added: ‘They need to acquire more properties to offer a bigger library, but their original content is top tier and among the best of any other streamer (I’d probably put HBO/Max over AppleTV+ .)
“I think $10 a month is still worth it considering Netflix is now $24.”

Some commentators still believe that $9.99 is a fair price for the service, especially when compared to the price of rivals like Netflix
The price increases will impact existing Apple TV customers within 30 days, beginning on their next renewal dates.
Apple News+ is also increasing from $9.99 (£9.99) per month to $12.99 (£12.99), while the Apple One bundle pack – including access to Apple Music, TV and Arcade – is now $19.95 (£ 18.95) per month, up from $16.95 (£16.95).
By raising prices, Apple joins other big names in streaming and drives up the cost of monthly subscriptions.
According to an analysis by the Wall Street Journal, average monthly costs for streaming services have increased 25 percent year over year.
This month, Netflix increased the price for its most expensive subscription service by 10 percent, bringing the cost to $23 (£17.99).
In Britain, the price of Netflix’s standard subscription remained unchanged, but the basic subscription rose by £1 per month to £7.99 per month.
Meanwhile, the price of an ad-free Disney+ subscription rose to $13.99 (£7.99), while an ad-free Hulu subscription now costs $17.99 (£14.89), an increase of 27 percent.
