Besides this, devotee Apple TV and Apple Music apps (opens in new tab) will be available in 2023, meaning iTunes for Windows will finally be replaced.
While you’ve been able to view your photos through the iCloud for Windows app for a number of years, there was no way to view them through Windows 11’s Photos app. This update fixes that problem and shows you how to get rid of your synced media macOS through Apple’s Photos app.
As Apple TV and Apple Music come to Windows 11 in 2023, Insider users can now test Photos (opens in new tab)long with other features that may or may not come to Windows in the future.
Analysis: iTunes on Windows is long past its peak
Excited about our partnership with Apple to bring great experiences for iPhone users to Windows and Xbox – with iCloud integration in the Photos app, Apple Music and Apple TV coming to the Microsoft Store! https://t.co/0SN30RREgq pic.twitter.com/Hf9dPYlevEOctober 12, 2022
Being able to view content on your iOS device in Windows was difficult at best, with the iCloud for Windows (opens in new tab) The app has barely been updated in recent years and doesn’t match what Apple users have gotten in recent software updates for iOS and macOS, such as Memories and the ability to find people through Faces.
It also became a pain to use iTunes in Windows 11 after it was thrown out by Apple with macOS Catalina and replaced by Apple Music, so this is another And last but not least.
It also makes sense to see a dedicated app for Apple TV, as you can on your own right now view content through a web browser (opens in new tab)which is not the best experience watching Ted Lasso.
Overall, these are welcome updates that are all long overdue. Users will soon have much easier access to their photos and movies — and everyone will benefit, including Microsoft and Apple.
