Apple really wants businesses to adopt the Vision Pro – from factories to offices, could the wearable technology become more common soon?
Apple says it sees the Vision Pro headset as an essential addition to any business and is pushing for more companies to adopt the company’s advanced wearable technology.
While spatial computing certainly has a role in business, allowing companies to create experiences that have heretofore been impossible or at least unrealistic, many companies are still not convinced of the benefits, a view that Apple wants to change.
The company says business developers are making strides in several categories, from productivity and product design to immersive training and supported employment. By using Vision Pro, companies can reinvent workspace environments while improving daily productivity.
Improving daily productivity
The tech giant is keen to highlight the many applications its wearable technology can be used for, from allowing users to easily access and manipulate their data using popular productivity apps like Microsoft 365 and SAP Analytics Cloud, to streamlining business decision making with real-time access to data dashboards, 3D maps and images.
“Enterprises have tremendous opportunity to reimagine what’s possible with Apple Vision Pro in the workplace,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations and Enterprise Marketing.
“We’re excited to see the innovative ways organizations are already using Apple Vision Pro, from planning firefighting operations to applying the most intricate details of an engine design – and this is just the beginning. Combined with high-end capabilities like mobile device management built into visionOS, we believe spatial computing has the potential to revolutionize industries around the world.”
Through data visualization on the Vision Pro, companies can also explore advanced design and collaboration capabilities and assist with training procedures. Apple says guided work, which often requires a comprehensive understanding of a person’s environment, is another area where the Vision Pro comes in handy. The wearable technology can also be invaluable for emergency response, maintenance and repairs, utility management or even construction projects.
Despite the numerous benefits Apple touts, many businesses still need to be convinced that Vision Pro will indeed improve everyday productivity and not just provide a different – and perhaps less efficient – way to perform standard tasks. This is the biggest challenge Apple must overcome if it wants to achieve wider adoption of its headset.
