Apple may be tracking more data about us than we thought

Despite previous promises to protect personal information and massive privacy violations, including ad campaigns, it appears Apple has not only collected data about you, but that information can also be used to identify you.
Earlier in November 2022, software company Mysk took to Twitter to disclose what it called a “privacy issue” for millions of iPhone and Mac users after it discovered that various data, from screen resolution to network connection, was being packaged from users browsing the app Store and will be sent to Apple.
Now Mysk has discovered that users’ DSIDs are shared with Apple in the data collection process, which involves an ID number that cannot be changed and is directly related to your account.
Concerns about Apple’s privacy
Because Apple also keeps data about your Apple ID — the account used to set up your products — Mysk’s tests suggest that data like your full name, date of birth, and even contact information are all presented to the company that makes your iPhone.
The software company stated on Twitter: “The analytics data that the App Store sends to Apple always includes an ID called “dsId”. We weren’t sure if this was the same as the DSID, the unique identifier that identifies an iCloud account. We confirm they have the same ID.’
This happens whether or not you give Apple permission (which can be viewed in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Enhancements), according to Mysk, despite the company’s claims in its privacy tools windows that “you can also choose to to turn off sharing”. of Device Analytics all the way.”
Apple’s privacy policy states that “none of the information collected personally identified you” and that “personal data is either not recorded at all, subject to privacy protection techniques such as differential privacy, or removed from reports before being sent to Apple.”
