Apple Martin, 20, breaks silence on those ‘mean girl’ rumors after rolling her eyes at debutante date

Apple Martin has broken her silence on claims about her ‘mean girl’ behavior after rolling her eyes at her debutante ball last month.

The daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay’s Chris Martin made her high society debut at the Le Bal des Debutantes in Paris, but the nepo baby, 20, was accused of trying to hold a camera and giving an apparently scathing look during a date with Count Leo Cosima Henckel. von Donnersmarck.

In a new TikTok video filmed with two friends, Apple jokes about the incident by miming a voiceover saying, “I mean… I don’t understand how anyone has a problem with us.

As her friend says “we’re so happy we’re two of the funniest girls,” Apple stands behind her and gives her a dirty look.

The clip continues: ‘And I know us offline, When I tell you that there are not two more generous charities…

The star was also seen drinking what appeared to be a glass of white wine, although it is unclear where the video was shot. In America the drinking age is 21, while in Britain it is 18.

Apple was one of 20 young women featured at the glitzy event at the $1,000-a-night Hotel Shangri-La.

However, many people were shocked by Apple’s behavior after a video emerged of her stealing the spotlight from another girl in the photo.

The other debutante, in turn, was seen posing for the camera when Apple came up from behind and sabotaged the shot.

Posing with her hands on her hips, Apple pushed her way into the statue, forcing the other girl out.

The debutante could do nothing but watch with an awkward smile as Apple began to pout and pose for several photos.

Finally, she stepped aside, almost cutting off another debutante who was waiting her turn for a photo.

The move did not go down well on social media after the footage, taken by French outlet Paris Match, was shared on TikTok.

“How obnoxious and entitled she is,” one viewer wrote.

Apple’s mother Gwyneth was present to celebrate her along with ex-husband Chris Martin and their son Moses, 18, and her mother Blythe Danner

“Oh wow, why did Apple do that? Let the other girl have a moment,” another added.

“Not good behavior for such an event,” a third person agreed, while another described it as “giving Regina George a hand,” referring to the infamous queen bee in the movie Mean Girls.

However, not everyone was bothered and some even suggested that Martin and the other debutante know each other.

“That looked awkward, but she was probably joking,” one person said.

“Oh god, they’re clearly friends and the girl in black stepped out of the picture anyway. She acts her age,” another added.

Apple’s mother previously praised her daughter’s “sense of entitlement” and said it is helping her break gender inequality.

“They have, and I mean this word in the best way possible, a sense of entitlement that is beautiful,” Gwnnie shared Peopleabout her daughter and her friends.

‘It’s not spoiled, [they] are also here for what the boys are going to get,” she explained. “I find it very uplifting and encouraging that we all seem to be moving in this direction together.”

Gwynnie joined her daughter at the prestigious ball, along with her ex-husband Chris and their son Moses, 18, as well as her mother Blythe Danner.

The debutantes on the guest list included European royalty as well as the daughters of A-list celebrities.

The family joined an exclusive list of attendees who were all personally invited by the ball’s host, Ophélie Renouard.

Renouard invites her guests based on their appearance, intelligence and family ties.

The event is being billed as a charity fundraiser and will, according to Hello! benefit two entities related to children’s health.

A source in Paltrow’s camp later told DailyMail.com that Apple is a “girly girl” and not a “mean girl.”

“Apple is more playful and fun and she’s a real girly girl.

‘It was never her intention to distract anyone’s attention, that was not her intention. It is very untrue to characterize her as a mean girl.

“She really had such a great night and I’m sad that this even takes anything away because it was such an uplifting night for her and the other girls.”

The Vanderbilt student went viral for footage showing her blatantly playing for a photographer’s attention while another participant had her photo taken.

Later, Martin rolled her eyes at date von Donnersmarck.

But the source insisted to DailyMail.com that Martin has a “good relationship” with her aristocratic escort.

“They had cameras with them all day and were playing,” they said.
