A technology expert has revealed little-known tricks that he claims will double the battery life of your iPhone.
“The biggest culprit for iPhones is their battery,” says Thiago Derminio, an Apple expert and educational content creator.
‘Everyone complains that supplies run out too quickly, and that only gets worse over the years. These are tips that even Apple doesn’t want you to know about.”
He suggested adjusting certain settings hidden in the operating system to prevent apps and features from draining your battery when running in the background.
These include ‘Apple Suggestions’, ‘Reduce Motion’ and ‘Background App Refresh’.
These are all in your iPhone’s Settings app and can be easily changed in a few simple steps.
To get started, open Settings, sScroll down to ‘Siri & Search’ and tap.
Then scroll down to a menu of four settings under “Apple Suggestions.”

These settings include “Allow Notifications,” “Show in App Library,” “Show When Sharing,” and “Show When Listening,” which allows Siri to suggest what you want to do next based on your routines or how you use apps.
While these suggestions can be helpful, they “consume your battery in the background and you don’t need to activate them,” Derminio explains.
Next to each of these settings you will see a power button, and most likely they are all enabled. Turn them off to extend battery life.
Now go back to the main Settings menu and tap on ‘Accessibility’ and then tap on ‘Movement’.
At the top of the screen you will see the ‘Reduce Motion’ setting.
iPhones running iOS 18 have the parallax effect, which makes your wallpaper, apps, and alerts move or shift slightly when you tilt your device.
While this creates a satisfying visual effect, it is unnecessary and consumes more battery power.
Enabling the ‘Reduce Motion’ setting will disable the parallax effect and should extend battery life.

‘Background App Refresh’ allows apps to sit idle in the background and automatically refresh even when you’re not using them, draining your battery. Disabling this will resolve this issue
Finally, return to the main Settings menu and tap “General,” then select “Background App Refresh.”
At the top of the screen you will see another ‘Refresh Background App’ button. Tap that and then select ‘Off’.
This setting allows apps to sit idle in the background and automatically refresh even when you’re not using them, draining your battery.
Disabling this will resolve this issue.
“With these adjustments, your battery will last much longer throughout the day,” says Derminio.
He explained the tricks in a TikTok video posted on his ‘Smart Tips’ page (@bravetech.ai).
If you’re looking for more ways to extend your iPhone’s battery life, you can also tweak the “Reduce White Point” feature, according to Herby Jasmin, the founder of technology site Gotechtor.
This feature reduces glare and dims the brightest colors on the iPhone’s screen, saving battery life because the phone doesn’t have to keep the screen as bright as normal.
To adjust this setting, open the Settings app, tap Accessibility, then tap Display & Text Size.
Scroll down and you should see the “Reduce White Point” setting with a power button next to it. Turn it on and use the slider to adjust the intensity.
This feature can also be customized to activate during certain hours or when the sleep focus option is enabled.
If you find that your iPhone still drains quickly between charges even after trying these hacks, it might be time to replace your battery
In addition to extending your iPhone’s battery life, having a dimmer screen reduces eye strain and fatigue.
One of the most common complaints among iPhone users is that the battery deteriorates or loses capacity very quickly.
Over time, this results in fewer and fewer hours of use between charges.
All batteries chemically age and therefore lose capacity as they are used. According to Apple, this normal process can be accelerated by exposing your iPhone to high temperatures or charging it too often.
If you find that your iPhone still drains quickly between charges even after trying these hacks, it might be time to replace your battery.
Apple recommends replacing the battery if it has less than 80 percent capacity. You can check this in Settings by tapping ‘Battery’ and then ‘Battery status and charging’. You will then see the ‘Maximum capacity’ of your battery.
