Appeal for mother after dog walker in east London finds newborn in bag

A newborn baby is being cared for in hospital after she was found in a shopping bag by a dog walker in east London, the Metropolitan Police said.

Police are trying to locate the little girl’s mother, who they say needs immediate medical attention.
