Respawn Entertainment has revealed the next playable character to join Apex Legends prior to the release of season 19.
Players won’t have to wait long in Season 19: To light is scheduled to launch on October 31st, but to tease the upcoming update we got the first look at the battle royale’s latest Legend, called Conduit.
Conduit was officially unveiled in a new version Apex Legends: Stories animated short film that offers fans her backstory and origin story, building on the game’s already deep lore.
She’s described as a “little titan of optimism” and yes, Conduit does indeed have a connection to Respawn’s popular Fall of the Titans series. The animated short shows her being rescued by a Monarch Titan who sacrificed herself during a battle that threatened to destroy herself and her home.
In the story trailer, we see Conduit return years later to the place where the Monarch Titan died and retrieve the remains of the battery, which gives her special abilities, allowing her to enter the Apex Games and care for her family.
“Inspired by the hero who once saved her life, Conduit trades her own future for the chance to become an Apex Legend and provide for her family,” the description reads.
Conduit’s official character art shows how the skills have affected her body, with blue veins that resemble lightning running down her arm.
We don’t have any official game footage yet, and it hasn’t been made clear how her abilities will work in the game or if they will be similar to those from the game. Fall of the Titans games. But with only a week to go until Season 19, we’ll definitely get more information about Conduit soon.
Last month, players rushed back to Titanfall 2 after Respawn quietly fixed the matchmaking server issues that had plagued the game for years. In fact, a recent one Apex Legends update led fans to believe the developer was teasing Titanfall 3 after the patch notes included a series of numbers that translated to the release dates of Fall of the Titans, Titanfall 2And Apex Legends.
However, it looks like the latest Conduit reveal could have something to do with the teaser, meaning those waiting for a Titanfall 3 announcement will just have to be patient.
