AOC heckled by angry New Yorkers over the migrant crisis
The Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was drowned out by New Yorkers outraged by the migrant crisis that has erupted in the city.
Protesters chanted “close the border” as the “Squad” member attempted to address the press outside the Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan.
She was part of a group of Democratic protesters who had to end a press conference early because they were drowned out.
The Roosevelt Hotel has become the center of the Big Apple’s migrant scandal.
“My name is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. I am here with Representative Adriano Espaillat, and we are incredibly excited to be here,” the congressman began.
‘Close the border! Close the border! Respect the AOC Constitution! I am your voter!’ a man shouted over the congressman’s speech into a megaphone.
“What we’re trying to do is make sure that all the resources are necessary and that we align with the city and the state,” she said, as the man with the megaphone shouted, “Illegal immigration is not right! Respect the constitution, close the border!’
“As you can see, this is a contentious issue,” acknowledged Rep. Epalliat, D-N.Y.
