AOC faces ethics complaint from Heritage Foundation for ‘defaming’ Libs of TikTok creator
Progressive Firebrand Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y., has received an ethics complaint from an outside group accusing her of “blaming” the creator of the Libs of TikTok account on Twitter, which has more than 2 million followers.
The creator, Chaya Raichik, delivered the legal papers herself.
The conservative Heritage Foundation asked the Office of Congressional Ethics to open an investigation into the matter.
The move does not warrant an investigation by the House Ethics Committee, which has a bipartisan membership and decides what matters involving lawmakers to pursue.
New York lawmakers asked Yoel Roth, the former head of trust and security at Twitter, about the account at a hearing in February: “Do you know… that from August 11 to August 16, that account posted false information about Boston Children’s Hospital and claimed they were performing hysterectomies on children?’

“Yes, I know,” Roth said.
“And do you know that this lie was then spread by other prominent far-right influencers?” added Ocasio-Cortez, in a claim that the account and its allies dispute.
She was referring to a tweet from the Libs of TikTok account that showed a video of Dr. Frances Grimstad of Boston Children’s Hospital who praised the facility’s “gender-affirming hysterectomy” and “ovary removal” procedures.
The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project posted video of the moment Ocasio-Cortez, a “squad” member, received the complaint in the Cannon House office building. Raichik himself delivered paperwork at the dramatic moment the group posted.

“You’re actually super transphobic and I never want to share a space with you. Thank you,’ the legislator shot back when operating.
The complaint filed by the Heritage attorneys accuses lawmakers of “knowingly and intentionally defaming Chaya Raichik, the creator of the viral Libs of TikTok account, falsely accusing her of lying and spreading disinformation.”
It states that the Libs of TikTok post was correct and that the hospital indeed provided”gender affirming care.’
Said Raichik in the video, “I just filed an ethics complaint with your office because you lied about me during a committee hearing.”
The video also shows Raichik trying to deliver the papers to the Ocasio-Cortez congressional office, telling an associate that she “lied about me” during a congressional hearing.
She then ran into the legislator at the Capitol.
‘Guess who I ran into? AOC itself,” she said. First she posed for a selfie with AOC, then told her straight to her face that “you lied about me” – sparking the “super transphobic” comeback.
Libs of TikTok, which was anonymously staffed by Raichik until she revealed herself last year, reposts content from left-wing creators, often poking fun at their awakened political and social commentary.
Issues surrounding gender reassignment and children’s participation in drag events are some of the topics that Libs or TikTok regularly post about.
The social media personality met former President Trump in January, a month after revealing herself on Tucker Carlson’s Fox Nation show.
Chaya, who calls herself a “journalist,” said her account started when TikTok was booming during the pandemic and she came across far-left content.
Everyone has seen part of the video. There’s so much more [out there]’ she said on the show. ‘[I thought] I have to spread this. This is so bizarre and dangerous. I need as many people as possible to see this.’
She said she was concerned about the number of teachers and parents sexualizing children on the app and decided to base her account on that.
Recently, Chaya posted a TikTok of a “queer” teacher claiming that a student came out to her as “agender,” but was forced to “misinterpret” the student every time I see their homophobic parents to tell them protect them because they are 12. ‘
