Anya Taylor-Joy reveals she was ‘f**king psyched’ to shave her head for her latest Mad Max role as she poses topless for stunning magazine shoot
Anya Taylor-Joy looked sensational as she posed topless for the June issue of Vogue Australia.
The 28-year-old actress is seen wearing black high-waisted shorts as she sits in the sun with her arms wrapped around herself in an artsy shot for the publication.
And as her long blonde locks rested gently on her shoulders and back, the star said she was “psyched” about having almost shaved her head for her role as Furiosa in her latest film A Mad Max Saga, which was released on Friday.
Anya insisted she was ready to defiantly cut off her locks, but the film’s director George Miller put a stop to her plans.
Movie star Anya was interviewed by her Furiosa co-star Chris Hemsworth for the magazine, with the actor, 40, asking her: ‘You were willing to shave your head but George wouldn’t let you?’

She exclaimed: ‘I was so f**king psyched.’
Chris exclaimed, “I was excited!”
Anya told him, “I’ve wanted to do it all my life.
‘Other people are attached to my hair and say, ‘F**k you, I want it gone.’
“I called everyone on my team, called Dior, called Tiffany, and I was like, ‘Listen, I’m going bald, and it’s going to be great.’
‘And George saw me and grabbed my hair and said, ‘Oh, it’s too beautiful. We can’t cut it.”
It comes after The Queen’s Gambit star said she has “developed a bit of a reputation for championing female rage.”
She added that she doesn’t promote violence, but her latest role in Mad Max: Fury Road prequel Furiosa sparked some anger in her.

Anya, who was born in the US but went to school in Britain, said she retreated to Hyde Park during the summer holidays to read and climb trees, in response to how frustrating she found school life.
She said British GQ: ‘The message I got at school was that everything about me was wrong. I think the way I looked played a role, and the extremes of my personality definitely played a role in it.
‘If I loved something, I loved something. I don’t have coldness in any sense, and that can be frightening to people, I think.
‘As a survival mechanism you learn to self-efface and to be self-mockery. You bury yourself before anyone else does.
“What I’m beginning to understand is: As long as you’re not harming anyone else, you should stick to your guns.”
She continued, “How can I say this? I’ve built a bit of a reputation for fighting for female rage, which is strange because I’m not promoting violence, I’m promoting women being seen as people.
“We have responses that aren’t always graceful or messy.”
In Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the origin story of the renegade warrior played by Charlize Theron in Fury Road, Taylor-Joy takes on the title role and says it sparked something in her.

Earlier this month, Anya revealed that a 15-minute action scene in her new movie Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga took a whopping 78 days to film.
The actress, who takes over the role of the younger Furiosa in the film set fifteen to twenty years before the events of Mad Max: Fury Road, spoke about the “wild” filming process for her latest film.
Anya leads the cast in the latest Mad Max film, featuring an epic scene between the star and her younger self – played by Alyla Browne.
Anya appeared on The One Show alongside co-star Chris, giving hosts Roman Kemp and Lauren Laverne some insight into what goes into filming such a long scene.
“We filmed it for 78 days, 78 days!” Anya said. ‘Yes. It’s called Stowaway. It was 100 percent the mountain we were all trying to climb.”
Anya went on to say that the scene had its own team due to how huge a task it was, known as a second unit, and was directed by Guy Norton – a stuntman in the first Mad Max.
She continued, “It was wild! It was so much fun but also very interesting because it all took place on the war rig, so I had it mapped out really well in my head, like “Okay, I have a month and a half under the oil rig, a month on the side”.
‘When I finally reached the cabin next to Tom Burke, he handed me a sandwich and said, “Good job, you made it” and I said, “Thanks.”
