Antonio Conte fired a warning to Premier League title rivals after his team went momentarily top of the table by beating Wolves, warning that Tottenham will only get better.
Harry Kane scored his 250th for Spurs with a second-half header to win the game. And Conte said: ‘Last season we might have lost this game. But this is not enough, and we will only continue to improve.
‘To get seven points (from three matches) shows this team is improving. This team has great chemistry and this is so important.’

Kane also leaped to fourth on the Premier League all-time scorers chart. And his manager insisted that he was surprised at just how good Kane is.
‘We are talking about a world class striker,’ said Conte. ‘He is a really good man and always ready to work for the team.
‘Usually when you have this type of player, they can be a bit lazy and will not run off the ball. So this was a big surprise for me when I came here and saw it!
‘Every player is ready to exchange personal achievements to lift a trophy. The path is difficult and lost but we will try our best.’

Harry Kane added: ‘When you can not play at your best and win games, that’s the sign of a good team.
‘Credit to Wolves who played well but we were much better in the second half. This was a really good win.
‘It’s been a fantastic nine or 10 years playing in the Premier League and I have plenty of years to go. I love to score and break records but the most important thing is winning games.’
Wolves boss Bruno Lage said: ‘But in the end we don’t have any points so we go home frustrated but with confidence that we can play this way and the goals will come and we can have a good season.’
