Antonblast makes a profit in less than a month, director says follow-up is in the cards
Good news as we head into the weekend: Antonblast is already profitablesaid director Tony Grayson.
“Less than a month to the day, ANTONBLAST has recouped ALL costs related to development, marketing and production! WE ARE PROFITABLE!” said Grayson, who also serves as studio head Antonblast developer Summitsphere. “It looks like Summitsphere will be making many more games, and for much longer. Thanks everyone!”
Antonblast is an energetic platformer similar to the long-awaited Wario Land series that received high praise when it arrived on Switch and PC last month. In his review for Polygon, gaming correspondent Michael McWhertor complimented Antonblast‘barely controlled chaos’ and focus on ‘platform precision’.
Polygon reached out to Grayson about what was next for Summitsphere, and he was open about donations Antonblast fans more of what they want.
“We will always be interested in pursuing more Anton projects,” Grayson told Polygon via email. “We’ve been very fortunate to have cultivated an audience that loves that world and its characters, and I’m sure we’d be crazy not to make that right. That said, we have a lot more ideas in store besides Anton… so maybe people will be surprised to see what we come out with next.”
