Antoine Griezmann and Koke watch MLS and NBA playoffs in one day in Miami

MLS and NBA one day, Grand Prix the next? Antoine Griezmann and Koke rush to watch David Beckham’s Inter Miami minutes after sitting on court for the Heat’s NBA playoff victory against New York Knicks

Atletico Madrid stars Antonine Griezmann and Koke made the most of their time in Miami on Saturday, tackling an NBA playoff game and Major League Soccer.

Griezmann and his teammate were on court Saturday afternoon at the FTX Arena for the Miami Heat’s 105-86 victory over the New York Knicks as the hosts took a 2-1 lead.

They were then quickly spotted at Drive Pink Stadium, a 50-kilometer, 40-minute drive to see Inter Miami host Atlanta United in Saturday’s MLS game.

Miami snapped a six-game MLS losing streak against Columbus last week with a 2-1 win, but Atlanta was set to be a tough task with World Cup winner Thiago Almada in the starting lineup.

The duo were pictured handing over their own Miami jerseys ahead of Saturday’s game.

It came two days after Griezmann went to the Miami Marlins to host the Atlanta Braves. The Marlins were defeated 6-3.

And a few supersport days could very well turn into an exciting weekend with the next Formula 1 Grand Prix in Miami on Sunday. It would come as no surprise to see the Atletico stars in attendance.

The 32-year-old Griezmann has made no secret of the fact that he wants to play in Major League Soccer and according to the man himself, he could leave for the United States in 2021 as early as next year.

He told French publication L’Equipe, when he was in Barcelona: “My contract with Barcelona runs until June 2024 and after that I think it’s the right time to go to the United States.

“I love that country, that culture, the NBA, and want to explore it even more, although I will also have to think about my family.”

Griezmann also said he enjoys the lack of media coverage in the US.

“This is also why I love the United States and why I want to go there, because you go unnoticed, which is not the case in France or Spain,” he said in the same interview.

Inter Miami have done everything they can to bring Lionel Messi to the team when his PSG contract expires. But the Argentine star is currently being chased in a lucrative deal by Saudi Arabia.

Atletico, meanwhile, have a 10-day gap between games in Spain, meaning their two stars have made a quick breakthrough to Miami.

The last game was a 5-1 win on May 3 against Cadiz – Griezmann scored twice – while the next game is against Elche on May 14.

Ateltcio are second in the Spanish league standings, but trail leaders Barcelona by 13 points with five games remaining in the season.
