Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has been ruled out of Saturday’s FA Cup final against Manchester City after the Frenchman pulled his hamstring against Fulham
Manchester United have been dealt a heavy blow ahead of the FA Cup final after Anthony Martial was ruled out of the Wembley game against Manchester City with a hamstring injury.
Martial suffered a muscle tear in Sunday’s final Premier League game against Fulham and United announced on Tuesday evening that he will not be available for the first Manchester Cup final.
A club statement read: ‘Anthony Martial has been knocked out of Saturday’s FA Cup final against Manchester City through injury.
The France international pulled his hamstring towards the end of Sunday’s 2-1 win against Fulham at Old Trafford.
‘Reviews have since revealed a muscle tear ruling the 27-year-old out of the Wembley clash.’

The injury is the latest setback for Martial, who has been forced to miss much of the season due to a succession of injuries that began with a hamstring injury against Atletico Madrid in Oslo in pre-season.
He has made just 15 starts in all competitions and Martial’s lack of availability has cast doubt on his future at Old Trafford. United are ready to listen to offers this summer.
Erik ten Hag is already eagerly awaiting Antony’s fitness for Wembley after the Brazil winger was whisked away in last week’s victory over Chelsea, although the United manager is confident he will be passed fit.
