Anthony Martial and Harry Maguire ‘top Man United’s list of three men for sale’ ahead of a summer cleanup at Old Trafford, along with a £15m defender who hasn’t featured this season

  • The Red Devils have put three of their first-team players up for sale
  • Defensive duo Harry Maguire and Alex Telles are among those allowed to leave
  • Anthony Martial may be sold as search for long-term striker intensifies

Manchester United have listed three of their first-team players as available for sale ahead of a big summer sale at Old Trafford, according to reports.

The Red Devils could only afford loan signings in January when Wout Weghorst and Marcel Sabitzer joined the club on temporary deals.

According to the Manchester evening newsUnited have said that Anthony Martial, Harry Maguire and Alex Telles will be allowed to leave in the next window.

Erik ten Hag’s side are looking to make massive changes during the upcoming summer window, and the trio are among those who could leave.

United have been looking for a long-term striker option and this is understood to have led to the decision on Martial’s future at Old Trafford.

French striker Anthony Martial is one of the players that the club would have put up for sale.

Defensive duo Harry Maguire and Alex Telles will also be allowed to leave United this summer.

The French winger has endured an inconsistent spell at Manchester after joining the club for an initial £36m in 2015 and has only made nine Premier League appearances this season.

The former Monaco striker suffered several injuries at United and continued that trend after withdrawing from his squad to face Crystal Palace last week.

Martial had found the back of the net just days earlier, during United’s 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup semi-final at Old Trafford.

Defensive duo Maguire and Telles may leave the club after falling out of favor with ten Hag this season, according to the MEN.

Club captain Maguire has made just nine Premier League appearances this term and has fallen behind Lisandro Martínez and Raphael Varane in the pecking order.

Not too long ago, ten Hag opted to play traditional full-back Luke Shaw in Maguire’s central position, despite the latter being available for selection.

Inter Milan asked about the 29-year-old English central defender in the January window, but the player wants to wait until summer to decide on his immediate future.

Brazilian full-back Telles only joined the club in 2020, but it looks like he could already be leaving Old Trafford permanently.

The former Porto defender, who signed a contract worth £15.4m, made 50 appearances for United in the last two seasons before being loaned out to Sevilla.

Martial has struggled with injury and has made nine Premier League appearances this year.

United captain Maguire has been overlooked by new boss Erik ten Hag all season.

During the January window, it looked as if United’s only signing for the month would be the loan of striker Weghorst from Burnley.

Sabitzer secured a short-term loan to United after news broke that Danish star Christian Eriksen would be ruled out for three months with an ankle problem.

United moved quickly to secure the temporary signing of Sabitzer from Bayern Munich and is set to replace the suspended Casemiro when

Austrian midfielder Marcel Sabitzer was loaned out by Bayern Munich on deadline day
