When was the last British heavyweight world title fight?

After a long period without a world heavyweight title fight between Britons, the successes of Tyson Fury and AJ at the highest level of the sport have ensured that fans can watch the most famous title in all of combat sports in the UK.

But when was the heavyweight title last defended in Britain?

Less than two years ago, Tyson Fury put his WBC title on the line in a three-fight match against perennial favorite Derek Chisora.

After beating Del Boy twice during his rise through the heavyweight rankings, Fury emerged victorious again in 2022 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium via tenth-round technical knockout.

The dominant performance marked the final defence of Fury’s reign before he suffered his first career defeat to current king Oleksandr Usyk in May.
