Anthony Joshua says he’ll ‘100 percent fight Tyson Fury’ as he hints he’d prefer a clash with the Gypsy King over Filip Hrgovic next – but insists he’s not ‘dodging’ the Croatian

Anthony Joshua hinted that Tyson Fury would be his favorite next opponent after his victory over Otto Wallin on Saturday.

The Brit stopped the Swede at the end of the fifth round in a dominant display in Saudi Arabia on Judgment Day.

After the win, Eddie Hearn suggested that Joshua would likely face Filip Hrgovic next for the vacant IBF world heavyweight title.

But the 34-year-old may have other ideas as he was keen to meet the Gypsy King in the ring when asked at his post-fight press conference.

“I will 100 percent fight Tyson Fury,” he said when a reporter asked him if he would prefer to face Fury or Hrgovic next time.

But Joshua insisted he was not trying to avoid a clash with Hrgovic, claiming he was prepared to fight both of them.

“I'm not avoiding Hrgovic, by the way,” he added. “I will fight Hrgovic too.”

Joshua was set for a lucrative showdown with Deontay Wilder, but the American failed to keep his end of the bargain after falling to Joseph Parker, who won all 12 rounds of their heavyweight dual.

According to talkSPORTHearn confirmed that Wilder's defeat had thrown plans for the much-anticipated showdown into disarray, saying: 'We signed for Wilder, he lost tonight. Maybe it's a blessing because AJ wants to become a three-time world heavyweight champion. It will be AJ versus Hrgovic for the world title.'

The staggering turn of events comes amid Joshua's comments following his win, where he appeared to hint that the rumored two-fight deal could in fact still happen.

“I wasn't looking,” Joshua replied when asked how he reacted to Wilder's loss. 'I just focused on myself. I heard Deontay lost, so what?

'He will come back. I'm going to look higher and I hope he comes back.'

Joshua then posed the question to the fans in attendance, receiving a lukewarm response, casting further doubt on the future of a fight between the pair.

Hrgovic appeared on the undercard of Judgment Day and made quick work of Mark de Mori, sending him to Saudi Arabia within minutes.

The 31-year-old has an impressive record of 17-0, 14 of which came via knockout.

Meanwhile, Fury takes on Oleksandr Usyk in an undisputed world heavyweight title match on February 17.

Joshua could meet the winner of Fury vs Usyk, but because the pair have a rematch clause it could be a while before a potential fight materializes.
