Fans were quick to react to Anthony Joshua’s ‘weird’ post-fight speech following his stunning knockout win over Francis Ngannou on Friday night.

The British heavyweight star needed just two rounds to finish the fight with the former UFC champion after landing a huge right hook that night.

After the fight, Joshua produced a post-fight tirade that left some supporters baffled as they labeled ‘AJ’ a ‘real weird guy’ and reacted to accents he used.

In the ring, Joshua said, “It is what it is. What I said: on the way to the championship you have to stay focused. I stepped aside from the mission, thinking it was for the broadcasters, for entertainment.

“But I saw him against Fury and thought, damn, he can fight.” We welcomed him, he is a great champion. It doesn’t detract from his capabilities. He can come again, I told him he can stay in boxing. It’s up to him.

The former UFC champion was left stunned after a brutal right hook from the British star

“Ben Davison’s performance center (is the reason for my improvement). I’m hungry, stay hungry and all that good stuff.

‘I don’t know (when I reach my peak), it only takes one chance, if that was me you would say ‘Joshua has to retire’.

‘I don’t know if I’m at my peak, I’m pushing every day, who knows where it will take me? In five years I won’t be fighting anymore, this will be a distant memory.’

Afterwards, fans were quick to respond on social media, with one writing: ‘I like Anthony Joshua but it’s underrated how weird he is lol’

“There’s just something strange about Anthony Joshua. Always seems weird and strange. It’s hard not to cringe when he talks,” wrote another.

‘Anthony Joshua’s speech “shout it from Cameroon, shout it from London, shout it from Watford and most of all… shout it from Saudi Arabia” Interesting,’ one user said.

Another wrote: ‘Anthony Joshua is basically unbearable. Must not be near a microphone or any form of public speaking. Strange person’.

‘That’s probably the most destructive knockout I’ve seen. Incredible punching from Joshua. He’s weird, isn’t he? What is his interview and noises about,” said one fan.

Another fan pointed out the lackluster atmosphere of the evening, as they wrote: “Boxing has really sold their soul to Saudi. What a soulless atmosphere that is. Shocking’.

Speaking after the fight, Joshua also urged Ngannou not to give up on his foray into the boxing world despite the brutal defeat.

‘He can come again. I told him not to leave boxing. He can do well. Remember, he has two fights under his belt and he has fought the best,” Joshua said.

“He can go a long way if he stays committed, but that’s up to him.”

AJ also told a member of Ngannou’s entourage that he would like to support the Cameroonian heavyweight’s foundation in the future.
