Anthony Albanese’s latest photo opportunity has angered some of his loyal supporters

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has been criticized by some loyal supporters after posing for the photo with Seven stars, including Home and Away’s Alf Stewart actor Ray Meagher and Sunrise presenter Natalie Barr.

The Prime Minister officially opened Seven Network’s new state-of-the-art newsroom and studios in Sydney on Thursday night, posting the photos on his Instagram page.

But he was inundated with irate comments about the lack of diversity among Seven’s stars within moments of taking pictures of Seven’s stars appearing.

Others wondered why he attended the star-studded event in the first place.

“You can’t whiten this photo by throwing liquid paper over it,” one Albo fan joked.

NSW Prime Minister Chris Minns also attended the event, along with Federal Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek and Seven West Media Chairman Kerry Stokes.

They were joined by Sunrise presenters Natalie Barr and Matt Shirvington, 7NEWS Sydney presenter Mark Ferguson and The Morning Show’s Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies.

Other seven stars included My Kitchen Rules judge Colin Fassnidge and Emily Symons from Home and Away, Georgie Parker and James Stewart, and Gold Logie winner Sonia Kruger.

The group photo of the star-studded guest list attracted the prime minister’s loyal Labor supporters.

‘The lack of diversity is TERRIBLE!’ posted one. Not an accurate representation of ‘Australia’ when there are thirteen white people. There isn’t much diversity here.’

“It’s so hard to understand how this post was considered a good idea,” said another.

Others added: ‘Let’s talk about the elephant in the room. Lack of diversity. So white

“So no one but the white people in this picture has skill?”

The high-tech facility will be home to Seven’s Sydney and national news operations including 7NEWS, Sunrise, The Morning Show, The Latest and Spotlight.

The studio in inner-west South Eveleigh replaces the channel’s CBD home in Martin Place, which was the network’s news headquarters for 19 years.

According to Seven, ‘The flagship studio space is five times larger than Martin Place and provides permanent sets for all programs, with two complete control rooms and over 40 square meters of LED screens.’

But the prime minister’s followers wondered why he had agreed to attend the opening and promote the TV network in the first place.

“Damn, this feels extremely wrong for the Prime Minister to advertise any private company let alone a commercial TV news network,” one of the posts read.

Talk about a conflict of interest. Expected better of you Albo!’

Another added: “I hate being ignorant here, but why does Prime Minister have to attend Channel 7’s new headquarters event?”

Another added: “This station is doing nothing but actively antagonizing you.

“I keep trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, but you keep finding ways to capitulate to the people you were chosen to stand up for.
