The insane amount of money Anthony Albanese spends on flights each week – after it was revealed he has EIGHT more trips lined up before Christmas
The Prime Minister’s towering multi-million dollar travel bill reveals that Anthony Albanese spends more each week on flights than the average Australian earns in a year.
Anthony Albanese has spent $5,306,066 on his VIP flights since being elected 18 months ago, making him the nation’s largest private flyer.
RAAF squadron VIP flight data, released Friday afternoon by the Department of Defense, shows he spends an average of $88,000 a week on flights – more than the Aussie’s average annual salary of $68,900.
From January to June 2023 alone, the Prime Minister spent $1,872,148 on flights, world trips to meet world leaders from Ukraine, Japan, Indonesia, Spain, France and Fiji.

The Prime Minister came under fire in September 2022 when he chose to fly VIP to travel to the Queen’s funeral, despite British officials requesting world leaders to fly commercially.
The guests were asked by the British Foreign Office to avoid using private jets due to “tight security and road restrictions”.
Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles defended the decision at the time, saying it was for security reasons.
“That has to be the main consideration here,” he told ABC’s Radio National.
“And I might add that that’s not just a consideration from a prime minister’s safety point of view, it’s also about the safety of the public.”
The biggest spending period was during the election, with Anthony Albanese earning $3,433,918 in VIP flights from April 2022 to December – comparable to former Prime Minister Scott Morrison during the same time.
Mr. Albanese will travel another 106,500 km in the air before the end of the year in an epic series of eight overseas tours.
The global diplomatic blitz marathon adds to the 23 overseas trips he has already made across four continents since becoming prime minister in May 2022.
