Anthony Albanese Newspoll: Huge blow for Anthony Albanese as disastrous new poll shows Labor going backwards months after new year ‘reset’

A new poll has found Aussies are turning their backs on the Labor Party after a referendum loss and a setback in tax cuts.

Newspoll results show just 32 per cent of Aussies have Anthony Albanese’s government as their primary vote, the lowest slump since winning the 2022 federal election.

The same poll showed the Liberal-National Coalition taking a further lead over the Labor Party with a 37 percent share of the primary vote.

Labor also appears to be losing its grip on the two-party preferential vote, now leading the Coalition alone 51-49, having once held a huge 57-43 lead in September 2022.

Albanese announced in early January that the government was considering new cost-of-living measures after months of shaky election results following the The Voice referendum.

More to come.
