Anthony Albanese faces questions over Billy Bragg concert

Anthony Albanese’s VERY quick trip to see one of his favorite musos has sparked furious speculation whether he used the Prime Minister’s plane to get there on time: ‘It’s like his own Uber…’

  • Anthony Albanese attended Billy Bragg’s concert
  • He made the journey from Canberra to Brisbane
  • Aussies ask if he used the Prime Minister’s plane

Questions have been raised after Anthony Albanese drove off the highway to attend a concert by one of his favorite artists in Brisbane.

The Prime Minister made the journey from Canberra to the Tivoli Theater in central Brisbane to enjoy a performance by socialist muso Billy Bragg on Thursday night.

He managed to make it to the concert, which started at 8 p.m., despite having worked in the capital earlier in the day.

His fast travel has some wondering if he used the Prime Minister’s jet for the trip.

Mr Albanese’s use of the jet has not been confirmed and the Prime Minister’s office has not responded to questions from Daily Mail Australia.

But critics have fueled speculation on social media.

Mr Albanese was filmed waving to other concertgoers during Thursday night’s performance

One of them said: ‘Did Anthony Albanese catch the Prime Minister’s plane on Thursday night to meet his buddy, working-class troubadour Billy Bragg in Brisbane?

“Probably because he seems to have no idea of do’s and don’ts or of right and wrong. Ignorant!’

Another commented, “You can bet he did. It’s like his own Uber.”

While a third said: ‘The Prime Minister of Selfies and Good Times found time while he was ‘delivering’ to pilot the Commonwealth’s private jet to fly to Brisbane.

“He likes socializing.”

Several Labor members attended the concert, including Queensland Deputy Premier Steven Miles, Transport Minister Mark Bailey and Federal Member of Parliament Graham Perrett.

Mr Albanese held a press conference in Brisbane at Trevor St Baker’s Tritium on Friday morning.

Mr Albanese posed with an electric car charger and tweeted: ‘This is what one of the world’s fastest electric vehicle chargers looks like.

Mr Albanese and Bragg first met in the 1990s and have since caught up at irregular intervals as the British singer toured Australia, with their last meeting in 2018

“It is the kind of technology we need to make Australia a renewable energy superpower.

“Companies like Tritium here in Brisbane need security to invest in new technology, new ideas and new jobs.”

The Prime Minister is a proud fan of the left-wing British singer and they are old friends.

Mr. Albanese quoted Mr. Bragg in his first speech to the ALP caucus after winning the federal election last year when he said, “Just because you’re moving forward doesn’t mean I’m going backwards.”

Mr Bragg said he and Mr Albanese first met at Sydney’s Enmore Theater in the late 1990s and “immediately bonded over a shared love of music and a commitment to the politics of compassion.”

The Prime Minister and Bragg had caught up when the singer toured Australia, he added.
