The owner and founder of a popular restaurant chain has launched an angry tirade against Prime Minister Anthony Albanese over the rising cost of living facing Australian households.

In a social media video, Rashay founder Rami Ykmour attacked Mr. Albanese and the government for failing to support families in distress.

Ykmour posted the video to TikTok on Thursday afternoon saying, “The people above are really picking on me right now.”

In a fiery video, Rashays founder Rami Ykmour (pictured) chastised Mr Albanese and the government for failing to support struggling families during the cost of living crisis.

The restaurateur has previously criticized the Albanian government for increasing the costs of fresh produce that had to be passed on to consumers at his family restaurants.

In the video, Ykmour said he was angered by Albanese’s statements that he was “aware” of the struggles Australian families face.

‘What are you gonna do about it?’ said Mr Ykmour.

I’m glad you’re aware, I’m glad you’re aware.

Ykmour also joined some conservative commentators in criticizing Albanese’s three-day attendance at the Australian Open in late January.

“I see Albanese in front of me in tennis, and I see a calm and relaxed man,” he said.

“He should carry the weight of the country on his shoulders.”

Mr Ykmour called the PM a “calm and laid back man” who sat in the stands at the Australian Open (pictured) despite the cost of living crisis plaguing Australians.

Mr Ykmour stated that Australian politicians are not doing enough to serve Australians, they are only doing what will get them re-elected.

He has been voted in as a minister, as a prime minister, to lead his people, to do the right thing by his people. Not because of your job.

‘Families need support, and they need it today and not tomorrow.

“We’ve been through the hardest three years of our lives, no matter who you are.”

Ykmour told Daily Mail Australia that in July last year he paid $144 for a box of 18 iceberg lettuces at $8 a head, as production costs rose 7.3 percent.

recent statistics of the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) shows record increases in the cost of living for all types of households over the past quarter.

Recent statistics from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) show record increases in the cost of living for all types of households over the last quarter

For employed households, where wages are the main source of income, the cost of living rose 9.3 percent over the past year, the largest increase since the statistic was first measured in 1999.

“Households with employees posted their biggest quarterly increase since the September 2000 quarter, which followed the introduction of GST,” said Michelle Marquardt, head of price statistics at ABS.

Rising interest rates combined with inflation are exacerbating the pressure on families.

“Mortgage interest charges for employed households increased 26.6 percent over the quarter and 61.3 percent over the year.”

In its October 2022 budget, the Albanian government presented a $7.5 billion “responsible” package of cost-of-living measures as part of a five-point plan to tackle the problem.

The plan was aimed at easing cost-of-living pressures on households through cheaper childcare, expanded paid parental leave, cheaper drugs, more affordable housing and ‘getting wages moving again’.
