Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania Premiere: A-List Meets D-List

There were surreal scenes on the red carpet Thursday as Hollywood actor Paul Rudd was forced to share the spotlight with D-list reality stars and wannabe wannabes at the Sydney premiere of Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania.

Rudd, 53, who plays the titular superhero in Marvel’s sequel, was one of the few bona fide stars in attendance at the film’s grand opening at Hoyts Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park.

He was joined by the film’s director Peyton Reed and his co-star Jonathan Majors, who plays the villainous Kang the Conqueror, but that’s where the ‘A-list’ guest list part ended.

The dapper trio were followed down the red carpet by a cavalcade of ‘local stars’ from The Bachelor and MAFS, plus little-known models and aspiring influencers.

The reality TV contingent included several ex-girlfriends and boyfriends from Married At First Sight, including Olivia Frazer, Selin Mengu, Selina Chhaur, and Cody Bromley; bachelor couple Holly Kingston and Jimmy Nicholson; and Byron Baes’ Cai Fox Leplaw.

Even notorious red carpet hanger-on Nasser Sultan got a guest pass, which he proudly wore on a lanyard around his neck as he got ready for photographers.

One guest, Sabrina Treffiletti (pictured), a self-described 'comedy queen' and actress, isn't famous by any definition of the word, but she probably got an invite from her thanks to her publicist Max Markson.

Also on the red carpet was model Natalie Roser, who in her defense was one of the most famous and successful people present, having led campaigns for major brands like Guess jeans.

But the same can’t be said for Sabrina Treffiletti, a self-described “queen of comedy” and actress, who isn’t famous by any definition of the word.

She turned heads on the red carpet in a busty green dress with a daring thigh-high slit.

MAFS bad girl Olivia Frazer, arguably the most famous of the MAFS stars in attendance, wore a figure-hugging LBD.

Interestingly, she’s represented by publicist Max Markson, the man who launched the equally lackluster Suzan Mutesi from obscurity onto the red carpet.

There were also the usual models who bring a lot of glamor to red carpets but not a lot of star power, including Nikki Phillips and Francesca Hung.

Another ‘who’s that?’ Guests included professional cosplayer Dani Dacic, Thor impersonator Andrew Lutomski, and little-known model Paris Raine.

Also on the red carpet was model Natalie Roser, who in her defense was one of the most famous and accomplished personas present, having starred in campaigns for major brands like Guess jeans.

Once famous for their glittering guest lists, Australian film premieres are now known for their bewildering mix of bona fide Hollywood celebrities and local wannabes.

These days, it’s not uncommon to see the likes of Margot Robbie sharing the red carpet with reality stars like Nasser Sultan.

This may be due to a shortage of local talent or the fact that organizers are desperate to get ‘meat in the room’ for these lavish events.
