Another OnePlus 12R leak reveals its full specs list and global availability

We're now quite aware of the OnePlus 12, which is now available in China and everywhere else on January 23 – but there's also a companion mid-range OnePlus 12R on the way, and a new leak has revealed just about every major spec for the OnePlus 12R teased. telephone.

This leak comes from a well-known tipster Max Jambor (through GSMArena), and it tells us that the OnePlus 12R will use the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, instead of the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that the OnePlus 12 comes equipped with.

That processor will apparently be paired with a choice of 8GB or 16GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. The battery capacity is said to be 5,500mAh, which is actually slightly larger than the same spec on the OnePlus 12.

As for the display, it looks like we can look forward to a 6.78-inch screen that can reach a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz. Apparently it will come equipped with Gorilla Glass Victus 2, so that should provide some level of sturdiness.

Cameras and launch dates

As for the cameras, according to this source we have a 50MP+8MP+2MP triple-lens camera module on the back. The two color options will apparently be Iron Gray and Cool Blue, different from the black, white and green of the OnePlus 12.

Finally, the leak suggests the phone will be officially unveiled in China on January 4, before launching globally (like the OnePlus 12) on January 23 – that global launch would also include the US.

OnePlus had previously hinted that 2024 would be the year its mid-range R handset series would become available outside of China and India, and it looks like it'll be quite powered when it arrives.

Pricing will of course be crucial, as always, and that isn't mentioned in this leak. We'll get the official cost of the OnePlus 12R when it launches globally on January 23 – and it could eventually make its way onto our list of the best cheap phones.
