Actress Annie Wersching, best known for ads on TV shows like Timeless and 24, has died after a nearly three-year battle with cancer.
On Saturday, on social media, the star’s friends and family confirmed Wersching’s death, which came years after a cancer diagnosis received in the summer of 2020.
Wersching, a consummate professional, continued to search for roles in the popular series Star Trek: Picard and The Rookie despite the crushing prognosis.
Since then, tributes have poured in for the actress, who was only 45 years old.

Wersching was best known for her roles on various television shows such as The Rookie (pictured), which she continued to film even after her 2020 cancer diagnosis.
Wersching’s husband, Stephen Full, was the first family member to break the news in a statement on social media, revealing that the star had lost his fight against the debilitating disease.
“Today there is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family,” wrote Full, who is also an actor and had three school-age children with the actress.
“But she left us the tools to fill it,” he added. ‘She Found wonder at the simplest moment.’
The widower went on to promote his wife’s legacy as well as her uplifting personality.
“She didn’t need music to dance to,” Full, 53, wrote. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you. She goes looking for him. It’s everywhere.’ And we will find it.

Jon Cassar, who served as Wersching’s director during his time on the hit Fox 24 drama series, also took to Twitter to remember his fallen friend, who he said had already “made his mark.”
“My heart is broken into more pieces than I can count,” wrote Cassar, 64, who served as a director and producer on the show’s first seven seasons.
“Annie came into my world with an open heart and an infectious smile,” she continued. ‘Brandishing such talent, she took my breath away.
‘Annie became more than a co-worker, she became a true friend to me, my family, and all of the cast and crew that worked with her.

“She will be truly missed by them and the fans she always found time to interact with. Annie we will miss you, you made your mark and we are all the better for it.
Beginning her acting career more than two decades ago at the age of 24, Wersching quickly made a name for herself with appearances in small but prominent roles on shows like General Hospital and Supernatural.
Finally, in 2009, the actress got her big break playing Renee in the long-running series 24 Cassar, propelling her to TV stardom.
She would go on to act on several other notable shows, including CSI, Blue Bloods, and the 2013 remake of Dallas, with guest appearances, before taking on longer-running roles on shows like Castle and The Vampire Diaries.
Then in 2013, Wersching would go on to play another iconic role that saw her gain cult status: voicing the character Tess in the hit video game The Last of Us. The game has since been adapted into a television show starring Pedro Pascal.
Prior to her husband’s publication, Wersching’s death was confirmed through a fundraiser posted by Full and other family members calling for financial support in the wake of the actress’s death.
The GoFundMe campaign has since been shared by Alexi Hawley, The Rookie showrunner, as well as The Last of Us creative director Neil Druckmann.
“We have just lost a beautiful artist and human being,” Druckmann wrote in his tribute post. My heart is broken.
