Anne’s Heche’s ex James Tupper takes their son Atlas on the red carpet for the first time

Anne’s Heche’s former partner, James Tupper, was seen Friday night at Nancy Davis’ 30th Annual Race To Erase Gala at the Fairmont Hotel in Los Angeles.

The dapper Big Little Lies actor was not alone.

Tupper told DailyMail.com exclusively that he took their 14-year-old son Atlas on the red carpet for the first time.

The father/son team looked smart as they posed side by side in black suits and crisp white shirts.

It’s been almost a year since the Six Days Seven Nights actress passed away after sustaining injuries in a fiery car accident in Mar Vista, California, in August 2022.

James said his mini-me son was doing just fine these days.

“He’s doing great!” Tupper told DailyMail.com. “He does well in school and is such a great kid all around.”

When asked if Atlas will follow in his parent’s footsteps and act, James said no.

“He doesn’t want to be an actor,” shared the 57-year-old Canadian who is best known for the series Men In Trees with Heche, which aired from 2006 to 2008, and the series Revenge, which aired on TV from 2011. until 2015.

Atlas appears to have a different interest.

“He likes tennis very much, he takes it seriously and plays every day for about two hours,” the proud father said.

Tupper and the actress dated from 2007 to 2018.

As for coping with Anne’s death, Tupper said he and Atlas “look after each other.”

And James also said that they “miss” Anne every day. “We love her.”

Also at the Race To Erase Gala were Denise Richards, Kathy Hilton, Alessandra Ambrosio, Jonathan Cheban, Cheryl Burke and Ashlee Simpson with husband Evan Ross.

Anne was buried in an emotional Mother’s Day ceremony at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

The actress died in hospital on August 14, 2022 at the age of 53 — days after she rammed her Mini Cooper into a Los Angeles home on August 5, causing an explosion.

The star was cremated four days after her death — with her remains buried in the cemetery’s iconic Cathedral Mausoleum, alongside other stars of stage and screen.

Her memorial plaque features a photo of the actress, with her full name Anne Celeste Heche, a butterfly icon, and her dates of birth and death.

The plaque describes Heche as a “mother, actress, writer, director, creator, believer.” ending with the quote: ‘Live in love.’

That’s what a representative of the star’s family told TMZ“She loved everyone so passionately and deeply and her children, her legacy, thank everyone for their support and love during this difficult time and are grateful to be able to honor their mother on Mother’s Day.”

Heche’s final resting place overlooks the lake and is located in the cemetery’s famous Garden of Legends – with its crypt next to Mickey Rooney and opposite Johnny Ramone and Chris Cornell.

Founded in 1899, Hollywood Forever Cemetery is the final resting place for a host of stars – and one of the most visited tourist sites in Los Angeles.

The movie star, best known for roles in Donnie Brasco, Volcano and Wag the Dog and her three-year relationship with Ellen DeGeneres, passed away days after being involved in a series of three motor vehicle collisions.

Heche’s life support machine was turned off on August 14 and she was cremated on August 18.

A coroner ruled on August 17 that she died of inhalation injuries and burns, with the death ruled accidental.

The mother-of-two also suffered a broken sternum as a result of “dumb trauma,” according to information on the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner website.
