I was skeptical at first when I was invited to try Cool Sculpting for myself, but Anne said she’d seen amazing results time and time again and knew it would “work” for me.
To say I was shocked when I saw the before and after pictures is an understatement, I couldn’t believe how much my body had changed in six weeks. What shocked me the most was that I only lost 500 grams during the whole process.
While the belly pictures are incredible, the real winner for me is the chin – even at times when I’m fit and much slimmer, I have a double chin.
So off we went, she had me in my bra and underwear ready to take pictures shortly after I first set foot in her clinic in Gordon.
We decided to focus on my stomach, because that’s where the most fat is, even when I’m more active.
For the same reason, Anne also used the machine on my chin.
Anne explained that we had to do two sessions, one on the upper part of my abdomen and one on the bottom.
To ensure that my photos only reflect Anne’s work, I’ve stopped exercising or changing my diet over time – although this may improve the results.
The process
Each part of the stomach takes 70 minutes in the machine.
Anne put a protective strip on my skin and attached the machine that sucks up the fat and then holds it in place when frozen.
The first suck feels pretty weird, but it was fine to have the attachment on for 70 minutes and gave me the opportunity to catch up on some Netflix.
I was stunned when she took the vacuum cleaner off. The frozen fat resembled a piece of frozen meat from the supermarket.
Then she massaged the frozen fat to break apart the ice crystals. This felt very strange but was not painful.
The chin suction was on for 45 minutes, it was quite uncomfortable the whole time because.
The suction was so strong it was a little painful when removed and when she massaged my frozen second chin I felt nauseous. I was left with what looked like a hickey for a few days.
After treatment
My stomach felt cold for a day. Parts of it felt numb and or tingled for weeks and when I smiled it hurt like when you smile the day after a hard abs workout.
They say you can quickly resume your normal routine, but I found it painful to walk more than a few steps for about ten days.
I also went to the bathroom a lot more. I had been warned that there would be extra bowel movements as the body would evacuate the fat cells, but wasn’t prepared for my once a day or two visit to the toilet to increase to four to six visits a day.
My chin was sore to the touch for a few days, but once the swelling and redness subsided, it was fine.
The result
Between the before and after photos I lost 500 grams.
I am shocked at how good my chin looks – the definition is amazing and it’s something my friends and family have noticed.
It gives me more confidence to appear in candid snaps.
My stomach looks lifted in the photo – I’m amazed at how the overhang was reduced and how it affected the overall shape of my torso.
Clothes fit better and no longer stick to my stomach. I also find it more comfortable to sleep on my stomach.
About me
I am currently on my largest size ever, both dress size and on the scale. And while I’m confident and know the weight will go up and down depending on what’s going on in my life, it can still hit me on low days.
I wouldn’t have looked at something like that – as I always assumed it was for people trying to get rid of the last stubborn layer – not to trigger their transformation.
