Anna Wintour issued shocking response to ‘loud and annoying’ Today hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager at the US Open
- The 74-year-old Vogue editor-in-chief told the Today co-hosts to be quiet during the US Open
- Hoda and Jenna admitted they were “loud and annoying” during the competition
- However, the pair said other stars had instead told them to be ‘louder’
Fashion queen Anna Wintour silenced Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager after the pair ‘loud and obnoxious’ while cheering on sports stars at the US Open.
The 74-year-old Vogue editor-in-chief looked effortlessly chic as she showed off her love of tennis to a star-studded crowd over the weekend, but her fun was seemingly interrupted by the Today show’s co-hosts.
Anna, who also gave Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton some fashion tips at the US Open, told Jenna, Hoda and Savannah Guthrie to “be quiet” so she could focus on the match.
Hoda (60) and Jenna (42) admitted on Monday’s Today Show that they were “loud and annoying” during the competition. They explained the different ways they cheered on the athletes.
And while Anna made it clear she wanted peace and quiet, the TV personalities claimed other celebrities actually encouraged them to speak louder.

During an episode of Today with Hoda and Jenna, the 60-year-old confessed, “Tennis is fun! We were loud and annoying.”
The pair then revealed that former professional tennis player Stan Smith encouraged them to cheer louder.
However, not all the stars present thought the same.
“I think Anna Wintour asked us to be quiet,” she said as Hoda made a soothing gesture.
Jenna described the one time she kept cheering, which may have been why the fashion guru was becoming increasingly irritated.
The mother of three explained that Taylor Fritz kept singing “Fritzy” while playing, but she admitted it never really caught on.
Normally, fans are asked to remain silent during exciting matches so that the athletes can concentrate.
However, stars such as Coco Gauff have previously indicated that they do not find the noise disturbing.

The duo then indicated that they had prepared for the competition by ordering a supply of snacks such as M&Ms, sandwiches and drinks.
They were also very excited about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, who looked very much in love while watching the games.
The lovebirds were seen dancing, kissing and cuddling, with some critics criticizing the PDA-like appearance as ‘moaning’ and ‘forced’.
Meanwhile, a body language expert claimed that their performance at the US Open seemed like an attempt to “prove their passion to the world,” while rumors swirled that their relationship was a PR stunt.
Speculation began last week when the pop star and the athlete were accused of having entered into a fake relationship to boost their careers after an alleged “contract” circulating online discussed a plan for a split.
Travis’ spokespeople have since labeled it “completely false and fabricated.”
