The British and American fashion worlds collided in France this afternoon as Edward Enninful and Anna Wintour chatted at Paris Fashion Week.

The British and American Vogue editors sat together at the Giorgio Armani Prive show, where they appeared deep in conversation before smiling for a photo.

Later in the show, Ms. Wintour was photographed making Oscar-nominated actress Michelle Yeoh and director Baz Lurhmann laugh hysterically. Meanwhile, the former first lady of France, Carla Bruni, kept a low profile as she attended the show with her sister Valeria.

The Vogue editors looked stylish as ever as they sat next to each other, with Wintour donning a burgundy patent leather coat over a patterned silk dress, while Enninful wore a black lapel coat over a shirt and trousers.

The British Vogue editor enjoyed the Armani show days after being in the audience for Beyoncé’s exclusive, if controversial, concert to open the Atlantis The Royal hotel in Dubai.

After the show, Ms. Wintour was photographed chatting with Michelle Yeoh, who was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar today.

The actress was nominated for her role in Everything, Everywhere, All at Once.

When the US Vogue editor joined her for a chat, she was photographed pointing at director Baz Lurhmann and seemed to say something that made Yeoh laugh so hard she wiped her eyes.

Former French first lady Carla Bruni, 55, also attended the star-studded Armani show.

She was seen in a very elegant black jumpsuit with a fishnet bust, which she paired with a black velvet jacket for the occasion.

She was accompanied by her sister Valeria Bruna Tedeschi, who looked equally relaxed during her low-key appearance at the fashion show.

Valeria, a 58-year-old Italian-French actress, opted for a silky-smooth gray dress for her outing, in contrast to her younger sister’s darker outfit.

The Giorgio Armani show was relatively low-key compared to yesterday’s Schiaparelli SS23 show, which drew criticism for its use of replica animal heads.

The Italian Fashion House’s collection was criticized as ‘disturbing’ as models including Irina Shayk and Naomi Campbell appeared on the catwalk wearing dresses featuring replica lion and wolf heads.

Photographer Misan Harriman, who shot a cover for Vogue, said on Twitter: “Dear fashion industry, this is NOT the way to start the year.”

‘No no no! I know better Schiaparelli. This is disturbing.

Schiaparelli confirmed in an Instagram post that no animals were harmed in the creation of the fashion line.

However, environmental activist Carrie Johnson said it didn’t matter if the line was “real or fake” and accused it of “promoting trophy hunting”.

Responding to criticism over the outfits, Shayk, 37, took to Instagram to defend the look, saying she was proud to have walked the runway for Schiaparelli.

She wrote: ‘I support these incredible artists who worked tirelessly, with their hands, using wool, silk and foam, to sculpt this embroidered Lion and Pride image, an image @schiaparelli invokes as she explores themes of strength.

“I’m honored to have been called upon to also lend my art as a woman to this.”
