Anna Richardson has revealed that she was branded a ‘paedophile’ when she received the ‘worst online abuse of her career’ after new show Naked Education came under fire.

The presenter, 52, described the ‘unacceptable’ comments saying she and her fellow presenters should be arrested, on Vicky Pattison’s podcast The secret of.

The Channel 4 show hosted by Anna, Yinka Bokinni and Dr. Alex George drew more than 1,200 complaints from Ofcom after it showed nudity to 14- to 16-year-olds, with the presenter explaining that ‘every single protocol’ was followed.

She continued, “I have personally been a victim of online abuse that I have never had before in my career – and it is completely unacceptable.

“The abuse that I have received, and also the other hosts and the producers of the show, is that people call us pedophiles, that we are pedophiles, that I am a pedophile, that I should be arrested, that we should all be arrested become.

“I mean absolutely disgraceful.

“There’s a little bit in the show where Yinka and a doctor are in a classroom with a group of teens and they’re teaching these teens about the naked human body and we have naked people there.

‘This has been done with all the checks and balances. It is done with full parental consent. Every health and safety measure and protocol has been put in place and followed.

“For some reason, certain people on social media have become hysterical about this moment on Naked Education.

“What’s interesting to me is that about ten, twelve years ago I did a very, very similar show, the Sex Education Show, where we literally went down high schools teaching teens about sex education using nude adult bodies. Nobody batted an eyelid.’

Naked Education has become one of the most complained programs of the year after another explicit episode saw contestants take part in a naked bike ride.

Some have even called for the show to be banned over fears of the explicit content’s impact on children.

An earlier episode showed adults stripping naked in front of a live audience of children as young as 14.

The show’s producers claimed that the nudity was an attempt to show what different bodies look like and to reduce uncertainty.

In the most recent episode, two trans men, Lucian and Finlay, discussed their gender journeys and the different stages they were in during their transition.

Finlay spoke about his experience with gender dysphoria and upper and lower surgery, offering advice to Lucian, who is younger and has decided to have upper surgery.

However, others have taken to social media to defend the show, calling it “informative, educational, empathetic, compassionate and truly groundbreaking.”
