Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell is currently being treated for cancer and recently underwent her first chemotherapy session last month.

The 28-year-old reality star is currently battling stage 4 cancer in her liver, kidneys and lungs after she was diagnosed with a rare adrenal carcinoma in January.

After completing the first round of chemotherapy, doctors are monitoring his progress before making any treatment decisions, even though he has started to lose his hair.

Previously, Mama June Shannon’s eldest daughter reported experiencing stomach pains before being tested and diagnosed.

In recently shared images, the mother-of-two took a selfie with her eldest daughter, Kaitlyn, as the 10-year-old and the rest of the family support her and keep hope up.

The TLC alumna also took photos of herself in the middle of treatment at a Georgia hospital, which has reportedly already caused her to start losing hair.

On Thursday, her 17-year-old sister, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson, took to Instagram to confirm the devastating diagnosis by sharing an article posted by TMZ.

As reported by PeopleThompson wrote alongside a screenshot of the post: ‘This is what I mean when I say you never really know what someone at home is going through.

“It doesn’t matter how famous they are,” he continued, addressing his 1.1 million followers on social media.

“Yes, I am very famous, but normal things happen to me and my family and everyone needs to realize that as soon as possible,” she added.

According to the American Cancer Society, adrenocortical carcinoma, also known as cancer of the adrenal cortex, is a disease that affects approximately 200 Americans each year.

Sources close to the family report that everyone is “very hopeful” that Cardwell pulls through and overcomes the rare disease.

They also revealed that the family, as well as her boyfriend Eldridge Toney, are coming together to support Anna and her two children, eight-year-old Kaitlyn and Kylee.

Cardwell first appeared on the 2019 TLC series Toddlers and Tiaras alongside her now-teenage sister, known as Honey Boo Boo.

In 2012, the 17-year-old later received a spin-off series titled Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and starred his entire family.

In the years that followed, Cardwell became the mother of two children.

She welcomed her eldest daughter Kaitlyn in 2012 and married then-boyfriend Michael Cardwell two years later. She welcomed Kylee two years before she called it quits in 2017.
