Conservative commentator Ann Coulter drew widespread criticism after she called Tim Walz’s autistic son, Gus, “weird” for crying during his father’s speech at the DNC.

Coulter, 62, needed X hours after Gus’ proud reaction to his father’s speech spread on social media. He burst into tears and pointed at his father on stage.

After the slur was met with outrage, Coulter deleted the tweet and issued a partial apology, saying she “deleted the tweet as soon as someone told me he was autistic.” In an effort to also direct the insult at Democrats, she attempted to turn the insult around.

In another tweet, responding to someone who jokingly compared getting a controversial pundit to “pick up Thor’s hammer” to delete a tweet, Coulter reiterated his stance: “Democrats are the ones who decided it’s okay to call people ‘weird.'”
