Animals Australia co-founder raises eyebrows over very bizarre bestiality question

A founder of an animal rights organization has raised eyebrows after asking Australians a very bizarre question about bestiality.

Animals Australia co-founder Peter Singer, a Melbourne-born philosopher, asked his 124,000 followers on social media platform

The article was accompanied by an image of a human hugging a dog, and was entitled: ‘Zoophilia is morally permissible’.

“This article offers a controversial perspective that calls for a serious and open discussion about animal ethics and sex ethics,” Singer wrote last Thursday.

Mr Singer, who published a book advocating veganism, followed up with another tweet in which he revealed he had been asked if he supported the article.

“If that’s the case, is it your official position that eating animals is not okay, but having sex with them is?” read the question.

Mr. Singer asked followers to consider whether they would rather be an animal that “sometimes has sexual contact” with a human, or an animal that is sent to slaughter.

“Imagine being an animal locked up all your life in a stable on a factory farm that’s too narrow for you to even turn around, let alone take a step, so you have nothing else to do all day.” do then get up and lie down. a floor consisting of bare metal slats,” he wrote.

‘Then you are stuffed into a truck and driven for hours to a place where you are slaughtered.

“This is what is happening to millions of pigs in the US today, and the lives of billions of other animals in factory farms are no better.”

He continued, “Now imagine that you are an animal living with a person who cares for you and loves you in all the ways that most people love their animal companions, but in addition, this person sometimes has sexual contact with you, and ensures that the contact doesn’t hurt you, and you’re free to leave if you don’t like it.

‘This is how you live your natural life, and when you become old and terminally ill and in need, the person who cares for you, full of sorrow, gently takes you to a veterinarian who puts you to sleep. Which animal would you rather be?’

But the bioethics professor quickly faced criticism from disgusted readers.

‘What’s wrong with you!!’ wrote one.

Another wrote that Mr. Singer’s views on animals boiled down to, “I can’t eat them.” Can fuck them.’

However, some took their argument to a more academic level, such as the person who wrote, “Not every barrier needs to be broken down. Not every standard needs to be questioned.’

Another commented: ‘There’s nothing to think about. People (almost always men) who rape and sexually abuse animals should be in jail and on the sex offenders register. Sex with someone who cannot give consent is rape.”

Mr Singer, a professor at the prestigious Princeton University in the US, shared the article from the Journal of Controversial Ideas – a publication he founded.

He emphasized that just because he shared an article did not mean he supported its views.

“The fact that we consider an article worth publishing does not mean that I… agree with the views expressed in it,” he said.

Ny Breaking Australia has contacted Mr Singer for comment.
