Animal wreaks havoc after invading field at Oklahoma-Ole Miss college football game

In case a thrilling battle between two SEC schools wasn’t enough entertainment, an on-court invasion by an unlikely critter only added to the atmosphere.

During a game between the University of Oklahoma and the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), a squirrel was seen rushing onto the field during the first quarter.

The squirrel charged into the end zone of Vaught-Hemmingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi, prompting wild cheers from the crowd.

It is unclear where the squirrel ran next as it appeared to run through a tunnel to an unknown location.

It was a tough game for the 18th ranked Ole Miss Rebels as they battled a struggling Oklahoma Sooners team that entered the game with a 4-3 record.

After struggling to get on the attack, the Rebels finally gained a foothold and built a lead in the final quarter.

But the procedure was briefly halted when an Ole Miss team doctor collapsed on the sidelines.

Cameras panned to the stands as medical personnel rushed to help the employee. He was eventually seen walking with assistance through the tunnel to a waiting ambulance that took him to a hospital.

Ole Miss went on to win the game 26-14 and improve to 6-2 for the season. Quarterback Jaxson Dart completed 22 of 30 passes for 311 yards and a touchdown in the win.
