A postman who blasted an elderly motorist and left her crying after she almost crashed into him at a roundabout has been criticized by witnesses.

The postman was seen giving the elderly woman on the side of the road a piece of his mind after the close call on the Gold Coast this week.

'You must give priority at the roundabout. You have to stop at the roundabout,” the irritated postman tells the woman.

“Why didn't you see me?”

However, his angry tirade was cut short after another female driver noticed the altercation and began filming his angry tirade.

“She's an older lady,” the woman filming says as she approaches the couple.

'She is afraid. Please stop.'

The older driver fights back tears as she tells the mailman, “I didn't see you.”

The other woman admonishes the postman for making the older woman cry and tells him to “stop bothering her.”

She threatened to call the police if the postman didn't move his electric delivery van so the elderly woman could drive away.

“Leave her alone and let her go,” she tells him.

The man told them he “didn't bother her” and that he had a family at home.

“Can you please go slower next time?” he asked the older woman.

“I'm so sorry, I didn't see you,” the visibly distressed driver replied.

The postal worker continues to tell the driver to “watch where you're going” as the woman filming tells him to back off and return to his vehicle.

“I didn't even touch him, but I didn't see him either,” the older woman says.

“And I can't believe how he reacted.”

An Australia Post spokesperson told Ny Breaking Australia: “Australia Post is committed to ensuring a safe workplace for its team members.

'A full investigation into the incident will be carried out, including reviewing video footage taken before and after the incident.

“Australia Post's Electric Delivery Vehicles (eDVs) are equipped with built-in telematics that capture video and data designed to keep our people safe on the road.”
