An excited Matildas fan has spoken out about Sam Kerr being repeatedly snubbed in her eyes when it comes to talking about Australia’s greatest ever goalscorer.

Self-proclaimed feminist Wil Stracke posted a recent TikTok clip asking why Kerr’s decorated performance on the pitch isn’t recognized in the same breath as Socceroos legend Tim Cahill.

Cahill, 43, scored 50 goals in 108 international appearances before retiring in 2018 – and Kerr found the back of the net for Australia on 63 occasions.

Stracke was baffled why the achievements of both footballers are considered separate.

“Early last year, a sports commentator (football legend Robbie Slater) wrote an article saying that while Sam Kerr had scored more goals for Australia, her record was not equal to Tim Cahill’s,” began Stracke’s video – which has been viewed nearly 300,000 times. has been viewed. .

Slater’s now infamous News Corp column left Kerr, 29, “disgusted and furious” with the Matildas captain labeling the piece’s content as “the most sexist thing you could say.”

Kerr was furious at Slater’s claim that her national team goalscoring record is ‘not equal’ to Cahill’s.

‘NOT EQUAL’, ‘RESPECTFUL’ and ‘IT’S RIDICULOUS’ were used in large block letters on both the cover and front and back pages of last January’s sports section of the Daily Telegraph to describe how strong Slater felt.
